Don't think this is the qualification event for the Worlds next year as the women are not being sent

So this was a Worlds qualifier, and the men qualified

presumably this was used as the qualification event.

The Canadian U17 men won the Pan American Championships (including beating the USA). THey did lose to Brazil in the preliminary rounds, but beat them in the knockout round.

 

The women won silver.
