  • 1 month later...

Remco Evenepoel with a 45km solo to take the win in the Donostia Klasikoa, nothing to do against that :d

And in Poland Olav Kooij sprints to the win in the first stage. Of course he's not a sprinter people didn't know yet, he's widely seen as one of the top sprint talents after all, but this is his first World Tour win. Groenewegen, Jakobsen and Kooij...there were times not even that long ago when it was a sensational result to have one Dutch sprinter in the top-10 in some big bunch sprint :d (I remember Tom Veelers with a 4th or 5th place or so in the Tour de France when he could sprint after Kittel being out, that was big)

For reference: Pogacar and Vingegaard had this power output for a significantly shorter time on their superb climb in Mende in the TdF. Going at 7.25 W/kg for nearly 12 minutes is borderline insane :p

Maybe so, but you can't compare a one day race with a 21 stage race, especially 3rd week performances when everybody is dead tired. Going above 6W/KG is insane at that point. We will see what Remco can do in Vuelta.

I believe there is no discussion thread for the women's world tour.

Results in the Tour de France Femmes:

Yellow jersey: :NED Annemiek van Vleuten

Polkadot jersey: :NED Demi Vollering

Green jersey: :NED Marianne Vos

White jersey: :NED Shirin van Anrooij

Not too bad if I say so myself:cheer:

    • Exactly. Recent developments of the construction haven't been particularly encouraging, and while they'll probably get everything sorted just in time, a lot of North American fans have been quite vocal about every minor inconvenience.

    • Yeah. It was pretty bad that they cancel the contract with the original creative director after 7 months of work. I feel like politics, in this particular context of the changing of prime minister and the cabinet, may had caused changes in organizational decisions regarding the Sea Games including the direction of the opening ceremony.
    • That's what I figured.  Wouldn't be a proper lead up to an Olympics without some media-fueled fearmongering.
