Hey maybe Roman can over perform, but it does look really bleak

He had a relatively decent performance at the Rostelecom Cup Grand Prix so maybe he can finish ahead of :ITA and then we can hope :USA finishes ahead of :JPN so we don't fall too far behind.

:AUT Dunja Zdouc, Biathlon.

Negative, but too high CT-Value to entry China.

That is awful. We had all the time been hoping that, IF there was a positive test on D-Day, it would have a low enough CT value. Didn't think that there's also the possibility of the other way around...

Another :AUT female ski jumper Jacqueline Siefriedsberger ... She had positive covid test right before the flight and won't make the competitions. Replaced by Sophie Sorschag ....

Yeah....that was expected I'm afraid...not feeling very hopeful for the other Austrian women who were in Willingen.

Updates from :SVK Hockey bubble in Bratislava:

Another coronavirus case was added to the Slovak national hockey team the day before Wednesday's departure for the Olympic Games in Beijing.

Forward Michal Krištof also had a positive test. Peter Cehlárik, whose infection was reported by the team's management on Monday, continues to show a positive result. From the team Staff, also the goaltenders coach Ján Lašák tested positive in the Bratislava "bubble".

"After testing, we had two more cases. Mišo Krištof was positive, but his load of infectivity is quite satisfactory.:fingers: We will follow him further, we will see how it will develop. Peter Cehlárik still has a positive result.:wall: Our colleague from the team staff, Ján Lašák, also had a positive test, but he also has a relatively low charge. I talked to him, he shows practically no symptoms, he feels 99 percent healthy, he only has micro-fatigue, "said assistant general manager Oto Haščák during an online press conference. According to him, the team management does not panic in this situation either: "We assess the situation from hour to hour, we are patient in the way we proceed. Even today we have moved the training to know the results of the morning tests. Only players who will negative and will have a charge that meets the requirements of the IOC will take part to the training session. " According to Haščák, defender Mário Grman also had higher values in the tests::facepalm: "It is currently being investigated whether Covid is in his final or beginning phase. He is in a position that he will not be able to train today, but we are waiting for the result of the next test."

TASR reminds that players need a five-day quarantine and four negative coronavirus tests before departure.

Without Cehlárik and Krištof, 19 players should leave Slovakia on Wednesday. The national team management is preparing for all possibilities, including the scenario that both Cehlárik and Krištof will not be able to play at the Olympic Games. "It is the two players from the starting line-up who are our priorities. Cehlárik as the leader player also of our Power-Play special team, We will be patiently waiting for the situation to develop. If necessary we will inform you about eventual alternates. But, We are still patient," Haščák emphasized, adding that the results of Tuesday's (Todays) tests would be important.

About the Alternates: 3 out of the 6 names were so far revealed, Róbert Lantoši and Adam Liška (Forwards) and the Croatian-Slovak Mislav Rosandič (Defence). The guys should be prepared if needed to join the team if necessary.

Cehlárik still positive - does not look good at all here, but since it is our must #1 player we will wait as long as necessary

Krištof had negative test, here it looks better, he wil stay in the Bratislava bubble and if in the next 2-3 days will have 3 more negative tests he will fly solo to Beijing.

Grman had again questionable result, so to not endanger anyone he will stay as well in the bubble, hopefully he will collect 4 negative tests in the next days and will fly to China as well.

Goaltenders coach Lašák had false positive test yesterday, the retested same test of Monday showed it was really the case and was negative, also his yesterday test was negative and thus will fly with the team today.

The players who joined the bubble on Monday (apart Krištof) are all negative and will fly today as well.

    • In general, our picture for a little over 1 year until the home games looks like this:     - the women's sector is still based on one Lollo, who is 3 years older than 2022, - the women's and men's sprint sector is based on one Bosa and possibly the young Pergher (0% possobility for medal in 2026), - Ghiotto has made a lot of progress and that is a big plus. It could result in even 3 medals, including 1/2 gold. Our team's performance also depends to a large extent on Ghiotto's form, - the rest of the men's team is basically unchanged. There is Giovannoni in the mass start, there is Malfatti in the longer distances, but they are not competitors on the podium of a major event.   I will repeat myself: if Ghiotto continues to make such progress, we will probably win 3 medals, 2 of which gold and it will be a success. If something doesn`t work out, an injury, illness, etc. (we know from Vitozzi that this can happen to anyone), then it could be very bad

    • Today is a day without Italians in the leads positions. I`m worried that they are not trying to revive this our sprint. There is only one Bosa and he is old. Pergher is young but she is also only one. It is a pity. After the Olympics they will probably 100% give up on the entire sprint. Our medal bag in Cortina will depend 90% on Ghiotto, just like it did on Fabris in Turin 2006. If Ghiotto will be in goodshape, he can even win 2 individual golds + a team medal. If not, it will be a flop. Apart from him, only Lollobrigida can compete in the mass start and possibly Giovannini in the men's mass start.
    • Yup, actually they have just some juniors pairs in the dance event
    • In bed with the flu and few hours of sleep, but at least the insomnia will let me watch the first World Cup stage
    • The news then is that she has not yet been arrested? I suppose Camila when she returns to Italy will have a very unwelcome visit from the Guardia di Finanza.
