The European Indoor Championships are underway in Slovenia, which for the first time also includes the barebow. Speaking of the recurve bow, Nespoli was eliminated in the quarterfinals despite a 10 in the playoff arrow. Here the medal match:

Men's :

BMM: Tsydypov (RUS) v. Faber (SUI)

World Archery proposes compound for the 2028 Olympic Games

Compound is officially being considered for inclusion alongside the current recurve events on the sports programme of the LA28 Olympic Games.

The proposal from World Archery is for an additional indoor archery competition for men, women and mixed teams that would last approximately three days, shorter than the current nine-day Olympic schedule.

Competing over 18 metres and indoors, in comparison to the 70-metre outdoor recurve format, would clearly differentiate the two events while building on the successful professional indoor archery circuit that is already well-established in the USA, the host nation of the next Games after Paris 2024.

Why not make it a winter event?

Probably too late for the Dutch Mike Schloesser who has dominated the compound class for the last few years. So I remain neutral about this:p

    • I mean, the program of these games is always very lopsided for Venezuela. Colombia without the skating this time took a big blow but normally it also favors them.  We compete in every sport while they don't bother with anything on water for example.   We didn't even have those sports when we hosted because these northern countries don't send anyone to reach the minimum number of athletes required for competition.
    • The weather yesterday was brilliant at the start.   Wonderful to kickstart something that's appearing internationally for the first time in over a decade.    I do think the programme can be expanded to include more events with a 200m track as well as combined events.

    • great week for the  crews!    3 wins, 5 medals, a few good placings and Tita / Banti coming back just as good as they were in the Nacra 17, ending up in 4th place only because of a technical fail on their boat (which led them to abandon a race and to a DNS in the following one, when they were comfortably leading the overall standings )   sailing is slowly becoming one of our strongest Olympic sports
