So there will be a decision on 6 Russian cross country skiers who competed in Sochi after a hearing next month.

Some of you may already know they are...

I won't mention names here but if they are found guilty only one Russian medal will remain from the sport in Sochi

Don't know the names, but I've got a feeling this show of pure comedy gold is part of it (look from 1:40)

That was a good reminder of the epic Gewiss-Ballan team in the 1994 Fleche Wallone :d  (who basically came straight out of a nucleair power plant)

:ITA Sylla and :SRB Antonijević, two volleyball player the compete in the Gran Prix Finals are positive to the same doping substance. Probabily it's a food contamination, but who know..

No suspension for Ana Antonijevic. I can't believe that she missed European championships because of meat:facepalm: China  This is really funny and sad at the same time .

I don't know for Sylla.

it's the same thing...considered her values, probably she was guilty to have eaten some meat during the world grand prix...

but, despite being this a problem well known and already experimented quite a few times, I don't think that the Italian anti-doping commission will be so nice to Sylla...I expect her to get a long ban (at least 12 months)...

I'd be very surprised if our NOC fury doesn't hit Myriam very hard...

it's unfair, but that's how normally things work in this Country...be cruel with poor and weak people, be coward with the powerful mafia-men...:wall:

The Anti-Doping Agency issued a Unanimous decision. Matej Tóth did not break the rules, he is innocent. https://sport.aktuality.sk/c/298617/matej-toth-uspel-saz-zrusil-jeho-suspendaciu/

Now who will return him the entire lost season 2017 and the huge chance he had to defend his World championship title in London ?

    • It may also be that Ceccerelli saw that the conditions in the Italian youth teams were very poor and that is why she insisted on setting up her own team (the results of young Italian skiers unfortunately confirm this). A private team will always be better than a team with 10-12 skiers with max. 3-4 coaches, a one doctor and a physiotherapist. Colturi is the only skier in her team and she has several coaches, a masseur, a doctor etc. Of course, it costs money, but since the parents are famous and have money + Red Bull got involved. I don't understand why she can't start for Italy again? Red Bull should care more that Colturi starts in Cortina under the Italian flag than the Albanian one + Red Bull, as a brand, always has a bigger sales market in Italy with a population of 60 million than in small Albania. I hope that this can still be reversed by next year. For this we need talks between the federation + Colturi's parents + Red Bull + possibly the Italian Olympic Committee. Colturi may be a skier equal to Brignone or even better in the future. We can't lose her, so we have to do now!
    • I`m very disappointed with this weekend. Only becouse of Ghiotto form I`m happy. Unfortunately, the women's team will not function well if Lollobrigida skips most of the training camps and Fontana starts alternately in short tack and long track. It will end with her not winning any medals here or there, because it`s already clear that it will be very difficult to achieve good results in long track. I hope that she understands this, because in short track she has a real chance of winning medals in the women's relay and the mixed relay but in long track not.
    • Tragic performance of the Italian women's team - last place and probably something bad happened at the start. There are so few starts in the team that it will be a problem to even qualify for the World Championships - 8 best teams. After Lollobrigida's return and Fontana's addition, I was counting on much more, but it seems that there are too few joint trainings. With individual quality, we have no right to lose to the Czechs without Sablikova, or anonymous Korea. And unfortunately this start will count for a lot, because there are only 2 more and our chances of playing at the World Championships are minimal. In my opinion with Fontana going from Short Track to Long Trackand vice versa, we won't be much use in the team. Here great teamwork is needed, not improvisation. As of today, there is very little chance that we will qualify the women's team for the games.
    • men advanced to Division A for the first time since 2018 (when they went 1-8). Don't expect much progress next year
    • Ok, but there we are talking about a person who has parents from different countries. Colturi has nothing to do with Albania.
    • There are few people here from Austria, Switzerland, Norway and Finland.
    • The worst editions in XXI century for us were Vancouver: 5 medals (only 1 gold for Razzoli's on the penultimate day) and Sochi: 8 medals (but no gold). Turin was already a prelude to this bad period, although the number of gold medals was ok. Overall we won fewer medals at home than in 2002 and this was probably the only case in the 21st century when the host country won fewer medals at home than 4 years earlier, either in summer or winter. In general the years 2008-2016 were very bad in our sport, both in summer and winter. Only 2018 in Korea was a slight rebuild + 2 fantastic summer editions in Tokyo and Paris. in Beijing 2022 we won a lot of medals - 17 but only 2 gold (If it weren't for Gogga's injury, I think it would have been 4 gold).
