Doping Cases and Bans Thread (2016 & 2017)

Leontien van Moorsel :NED the world/Olympic champion was positive

here

Nope, she wasn't :p

This is a doctor saying he provided her (among others) with EPO, so now it's just his story against the story of Van Moorsel (and others). There won't be any investigation because it's too long ago, so it's sort of weird from him to come up with this now.

what a slap for McLaren

All this was a big farce.

The Russians seem to have done a good job in destroying as much evidence as possible :p

So  95 out of 96 are cleared. If this is a random sample then it is very bad news for WADA.

However my guess is the cases completed so far are the ones that appear in the McLaren report but have almost no evidence to support them.

They look at the weak cases first, get rid of them then move on to more serious cases. Still over 1000 left.

The worst possibility for Russia is if WADA can prove the evidence once existed but has now  has been destroyed.

If you can't punish a dirty athlete then you have to punish the whole federation if it helps them to cheat

It's a very very law quantity of doping.. so, we must wait...

I would be shocked if they were suspended. They might lose a medal from the tournament but the national team won't be punished and the players won't be banned

I didn't see that coming.

I don't expect anything to happen though, but it's good, that some don't want to let the all thing just vanish.

So there will be a decision on 6 Russian cross country skiers who competed in Sochi after a hearing next month.

Some of you may already know they are...

I won't mention names here but if they are found guilty only one Russian medal will remain from the sport in Sochi
