It's rather... interesting, how much the Chinese team has improved in a season spent in an isolation and without competition.

Oh well, 26th or 33rd...I wonder if it matters that much for athletes who aim for podium positions

Olympic host bonus in the extreme, as shown in speed skating (men's sprinting, mostly) and some sliding events

Gabrielė Leščinskaitė giving a lot of hopes with her pre-season racing, having a tendency to get faster and faster as the race goes on, gives me false hope that we're winning World Cup points today. Because that 4th and 5th lap was absolutely abyssmal and made a possible good performance absolutely average, and not helping much for her Olympic qualification.
