Even 1% of hope is hope, let's go Ireland :d

There is a Disney movie already in production to celebrate Ireland's penalty shoot-out success to beat Netherlands and lift the World title :d

Ireland in the final, with respect, is an incredible sucession of strange events.

They are here because England somehow didn't win they first two games despite having lots of chances + because Argentina had a bad day against Germany + because Belgium and Germany somehow lost to Spain despite being both better teams than Spain + on top of all that they won two consecutive shootouts!

Mind-boggling.

And yet some actually think it's going to be an easy final. :p

I don't know, the dutch usually don't screw around against low ranked teams. Ireland has some weapons but the difference in technique is just massive.

Rugby, probably.

No (and it was never close really) . The Australian Football International Cup will be the one in my knowledge  (it's played without Australia, it doesn't mean much but it does exist)

Has Ireland ever won a World Championship in a team sport? And I don't mean Gaelic football ;)

No, never been in a world final in a team sport before. And  certainly did not think it would be hockey that would provide us with our first ever appearance in a world final. It's amazing! :)
