What relief to see him win the Philippines first world championship medal. Especially after all the troubles he had with the athletics federation

:PHI sport is looking bright for Paris 2024, I hope the higher-ups don't mess with the athlete's preparation

A somewhat underwhelming championships for :POL

Four medals including two which nobody really expected from Zdzieblo which artificially boosted the impression value. We still rule the men's hammer but cons outnumber the pros otherwise:

Positives: healthy Ennaoui gets 5th place which pretty was in her ceiling on a global stage, Sułek beats 37 year old heptathlon NR and Skrzyszowska =PB which was lost amid insane 100H level.

Negatives: No athletes in M shot put and W hammer throw. Swoboda just can't run under 11 secs outdoors. Missing W 4x400 relay final is criminal.

Meh: Male pole vaulters are getting old, Andrejczyk can't stay healthy more than one season over a 4-year span (watch her struggle in 2023 again).

Facts: Polish discus and high jump is more or less AWOL. It's not as bad as the women's PV post-Rogowska & Pyrek but it's getting there.

See ya in Munich next month! ;)

Amusan :NGR going home $200,000 richer :d (assuming it works that way…)

Edit: Nevermind, she only gets a meager $100,000 :p

Enough to buy a couple of new pairs of those super shoes :d

Who knew it'd be distance running and the hurdles to profit the most from them, not a combination I'd expect :p

Fantastic race though anyway, didn't hit a single hurdle and it looked like near perfection.

    • Today is a day without Italians in the leads positions. I`m worried that they are not trying to revive this our sprint. There is only one Bosa and he is old. Pergher is young but she is also only one. It is a pity. After the Olympics they will probably 100% give up on the entire sprint. Our medal bag in Cortina will depend 90% on Ghiotto, just like it did on Fabris in Turin 2006. If Ghiotto will be in goodshape, he can even win 2 individual golds + a team medal. If not, it will be a flop. Apart from him, only Lollobrigida can compete in the mass start and possibly Giovannini in the men's mass start.

    • Yes, he is ones of the first supporters of Milei, owner of one of the most important stock market of Argentina (Bull market), he was peronist and for "unknown reasons" start to be libertarian.   Even being libertarian in my case, i have to admit that him is one of the dumbest of "Milei supporters" and a clown when  he is in TV, he made me feel  embarrassed in many occasions.   Camila Giorgi being with him is.......inconceivable.
