Canada can't win a gold medal these Olympics, this is going to end up being Canada's worst Olympics in a a couple decades at this rate xD

Also remember when :USA was having bad Olympics? Everything is going their way now.

I had a friend asking me the other day what the US gold total would be.  He was asking if it would top 10.  I said no way.  Not so sure about that anymore

Ya well I hope Canada has a similar turnaround because at this point I'm starting to worry we'll have our worst Olympics since Lillehammer in terms of gold medals. Missing out on our best gold medal chance on day 1 really set the tone so far.

Will be interesting to see how well the US can do in the remaining speed skating events, that could be the key to finishing in the top 3. And maybe Ocala on it's own could win more gold medals than Canada :P

if they moved the slalom part to whichever at least decent hill she will definitely have a chance, if they leave it on that 40 seconds plane she have absolutely no chance I fear.

with Gisin going so fast in the speed disciplines, I fear the gold medal will be hers, unless she misses a gate in slalom...

    • It's all hogwash especially in the short attention span generation. Like nobody cares about Free Tibet anymore either. Free Palestine will last a lot longer due to Saudi Arabia becoming a sponsorship force in sports.   Israel is too weak in soccer to qualify from UEFA zone. The only time they qualified was from the Asian zone and they only beat Australia & New Zealand who were complete nobodies in the 1960s. No such luck in the 60 years since.
    • Oh I assure you FIFA dodger a bullet with Israel not qualifying…   But ya that’s kind of the thing, shut up and dribble is a mantra anti LGBT people have used often. I don’t think it’s hypocritical to remind them of their position
    • Ah, yes but that's not how pro athletes are taught in North America these days? Shut up & dribble is xenophobic, racist or whatever? The hypocrisy of some of these policies were exposed during 2022 World Cup already where the Saudis played it smart and waved their own "Free Palestine' slogans. Forget LGBT rights for a moment, how many 'Free Palestine' flags will be waved in 2026? Or will those be confiscated by default? Somehow I feel this won't be met with similar backlash when China clamped down on 'Free Tibet' in 2008 OG. Saudi Arabia is more important to global markets than Iran & Egypt
    • Wisła Płock just assumed 1st position after five consecutive draws. Must be first time ever a team on a five match winless streak actually moves up to league top.
    • Well ya, which is why the Egyptian and Iranian teams can shut up and dribble :P
    • The problem is, the World Cup is not a local event. Overall it's another storm in a teacup. LGBT rights in Muslim countries won't change a damn inch becuse of one soccer match in Seattle
