Reallocation positions are all listed in this PDF

I've seen the reallocation list but still can't find anywhere the criteria for getting on it. I thought initially that all LIV golfers were excluded but that's not the case so unless Hatton has said that he is not interested in competing I can't see why he wouldn't be the 1st reserve for GB

There appear to be at least six players who have stated they do not wish to be considered for inclusion.

:GBR  Tyrell Hatton

:USA  Brooks Koepka

:RSA  Louis Oosthuizen

:BEL  Thomas Pieters

:AUS  Adam Scott

:GER  Marcel Siem

I think golf has a decent qualification system. Maybe increase nations eligible to send up to 4 athletes from top 15 to top 30 or 50, but that likely only affects a couple of players at the most.

For men, a spot in the top-27 on the Olympic Golf Ranking at the date decided by the international federation is enough, for women this is a top-24 spot. For positions 28-59 (men), one top-8 (counting 2 players per NOC) is required in one of the mentioned events in 2023 or 2024 (but said events aren't mentioned anywhere in the qualifying document, so...no idea). For women, this is required for positions 25-59.

@Dragon

I assume you meant Luiten and Van Dam, now that I think about it.

This would suggest two men and two women both would be on their way to qualifying, so far?

Of course depending on the Dutch NOC, they do need a top-8 in one event in a list of events that I can't find, so....yeah :p

    • c'mon! stop those idiots! they're trying hard to ruin athletics in almost every aspect (road running, field events, the same cross country that has already been killed in practice)   please, someone shoot to death Coe and his accolades as soon as possible!!!
    • That's only if they don't listen to Trump's 48 hour deadline. But that is permanently 48 hours away, since, well, TACO.
    • I agree NO to Poomsae!!!   I think they plan to introduce 6 weight classes after LA instead of 8 right now, and those 6 should become Olympic instead of current 4 weights. Going forward world and Olympic ranking could be identical.    But it’s not clear if that means more quotas. Having 6 classes with 64 athletes per gender would be a joke. A reasonable taekwondo competition needs at least 16 athletes per weightclass. But I am not sure taekwondo can get another 64 quotas in total, I doubt it.    beside that I am not happy with the newly proposed weight classes, they give much more focus on light weight athletes, which will be an advantage for Asian countries mainly.    if the proposal is accepted the new weightclasses will be:    Female: 46kg, 51kg, 57kg, 63kg,70kg and +70kg    Male: 54kg, 60kg, 67kg,74kg, 82kg, +82kg
