Updated Men's section from last week's Seville Marathon, for some reason WA didn't post Men's at same time as Women's. @DnlI can officially confirm what @Joshsaid was true.

Great thanks @Cinnamon Bun and @Josh happy that it’s official, we now got 3men and 1 woman in the marathon :d

I was reading the qualifiying process and I was surprised at the part of Universiality Places. Countries now can onky apply to 100, 800 and Marathon for a Universiality quota.

And in 800 there are only 3 slots availeable per gender.

I don't dislike this idea much. Its too restrictive but I like big fields and lots of athletes in marathon.

I don't know why they couldn't do universality quotas for all events, but have it capped like they do for the 800m

First of the world marathon majors starts in around 5 minutes in the form of the Tokyo Marathon. On Eurosport Player/Discovery + in Europe, not sure about the rest of the world.

    • Weightlifting formula is more or less similar to 2020 which was considered terrible by everybody!    this is a tough sport, you can't be in your best shape for too many events. there will be risks of serious injuries this way. with these rules you need 5 good results to qualify. if you bomb out in an event to score a zero you are out of the Olympics unless you replace it with another event. which means most of these poor guys have to participate in 7-8 events (and not just 5) to make up for possible bomb outs.    most importantly if you get injured anytime during this period (almost 2 years) you are out of the Olympics! that's how Sohrab Moradi missed the Tokyo Olympics despite breaking the WR during the qualification period. you can miss the Olympics in 2028 if you get injured late 2026 !  Karlos Nasar couldn't win the Olympic title if we had these rules in 2024   I understand 2024 qualification formula wasn't great either, it had its own flaws but this one is much worse for threatening athletes' health.

    • Off to Milan for the 145th session of the International Olympic Committee. Although the agenda has not been published yet, there shouldn’t be any major items over these two days, apart from the election of a member of the IOC Executive Board. This will be the eighth time the session is held in Italy, the last one being during the Turin 2006 Olympic Games.
