After a "slow" start, this really feels like a Paralympic day with so many things going on that I can't keep up.

 

+ I should watch more Athletics in one day here than I did at the entire Olympics :p

After a disappointing result in Rio, Herbert Aceituno gets the first ever Paralympic medal for :ESA with his bronze in Powerlifting.

 

A result that will be even more celebrated since El Salvador also never won a medal at the Olympics.

:ESA joins :ANG:BIH:CPV:LAO:LBA:MLT:PLE:PNG:RWA on the list of countries who have won a medal at the Paralympic Games, but not at the Olympic Games.

      That was known from the start for  and will be planned for.   Sadly just the reality of sports in North America. Canada and the US are both huge, a flight from Vancouver to Halifax or from Seattle to Miami is north of five hours. Every sports league in North America has to deal with this kind of travel logistics on the regular, so none of this will seem particularly unusual to a North American player.
