Athletics EAA Under 23 European Championships 2021

Ramsey Angela won his 400mH semi-final by a full second with a 49.17 pb. Not bad.

He was definitely close to qualifying for Tokyo individually, but in the end he's going as part of the 4x400m relay.

Silver for Karydi in the women's triple jump. Very disappointing, this was her worst competition of the season. At least she will have another chance to win gold in this category in 2023.

Let's see what she can do in the long jump but I definitely had higher expectations for her this year in the triple jump. Really thought she'd make it to Tokyo.

Hoping Greece can win another medal today between Frantzeskakis in the men's hammer throw and Filtisakou in the women's 20km walk.

The only :IRL athlete at these games who's going to Tokyo just won a medal. David Kenny carries on our fine walking tradition with a silver in the 20km walk

Another silver medal for Greece, this time for Frantzeskakis. So we now have 3 medals, which is more than any other nation so far. Unfortunately no gold as of now.

We might sneak a bronze in the women's 20km walk but I guess we'll have to wait until at least tomorrow for a gold. I guess Karalis in the men's pole vault and Pantazis in the men's triple jump are our best chances remaining for gold. I think they'll both likely win medals but they'd have to do really well to win golds...

    • Interesting, for only 2 months i think i have seen some kind of coin from all of the big countries - Germany, Italy, Spain, Holland, France, Portugal, Belgium, Finland, Ireland and yes the 2 euro from Croatia. But some of them were the smaller ones, 10, 5, 2 cents.    Expectedly there aren't any from the smaller countries so far. Nothing from the Baltics, Cyprus, Slovenia, Malta, Andorra etc. But also a bit surprising i haven't seen any from Greece yet.    Don't know from what part of Italy are you, but it's safe to say that when summer hits there will be a lot of Bulgarians visiting Rome, so i'm sure they'll bring some of our coins to spread around.
    • I choose to collect only coins in circulation (and I have also found coins in circulation that should not be on the market; you can find a bit of everything). From my experience, it takes 4-5 years for coins to reach southern Italy, so I have no idea how it will work in Bulgaria. Incidentally, I am curious to see when I will see my first Bulgarian coin. I have not yet seen a Croatian coin (introduced in 2023!).
    • Yes, i saw that there are a lot of commemorative coins. But to get some of those, i would need to buy them, as i don't know how much of them are in circulation. And the chances of such making it to Bulgaria are rather slim.    Still, if i find some sports ones on a good price, maybe i will order a few.

    • Don't know if someone else is collecting Euro coins, but since we joined the zone it's been fun looking at what you can get.    It took only 2 months, but today i finally got my first Slovakian coin.  @hckošice
