Games to forget... quickly...and never re-open

In Germany there is basically no news coverage about the European Games, except for the private TV station which holds broadcasting rights (and does a horrible job). Noone here takes notice of these Games. Except for those sports where Olympic qualifications are held (Table Tennis, Shooting, Archery), thus where they artificially tried to put significance on the European Games, even the athletes do not care.

Tbh I don't see the relevance of such European Games, especially when having such a brillant event like the European Champonships as 2018 (Glasgow/Berlin). Imo if the European Games were cancelled, the sports world wouldn't miss anything.

by the way, :ITA Mattia Busato lost once again against :TUR Alì Sofuoglu in men's Kata and will fight "only" for Bronze, meanwhile :ITA Viviana Bottaro filled her contract and will win the Silver Medal among the women (no chance she can beat :ESP Sandra Sanchez)...

so, the first 2 Gold Medal matches of the Karate tournament are:

Men's Kata: :ESP Damian Hugo Quintero Capdevila vs :TUR Alì Sofuoglu

Women's Kata: :ESP Sandra Sanchez Jaime vs :ITA Viviana Bottaro

now let'go to more serious stuff, the Kumite events...

first on the mat, the women's -68kg and +68kg...

    • I hope they can kick teqball and convince the North Koreans to play the real deal  (very unlikely, I know(   Obstacle racing on the other hand, it should be a compulsory sport of the ABG
    • Lasting 2 Weeks and including 24 sports    I bet Beach Sepaktakraw(including their favourite Chinlone, Hoop), Water Skiing, Arnis, Floorball, Wushu, Weightlifting, Taekwondo, Underwater Hockey, Boxing and a few martial arts (Kickboxing/Muay Thai etc)   Obstacle Racing also should make the cut.
    • Oops. I must have misunderstood. I could have sworn I saw her jogging in a field of other men. I assumed she had caught up to some of the slower men. (I admittedly wasn't watching closely.)
    • The women started earlier, it was a race without any men participating.
    • Looking forward to this competition starting tomorrow! Will be nice to see some other countries participate. USA women start with Namibia tomorrow.
    • This came out on the official website yesterday. Updated list of events and competition schedules in Japanese.   Padel and Teqball are on the schedules. Looks like two events for Padel and five for Teqball.   https://www.aichi-nagoya2026.org/files/common/260427競技スケジュール/01_日本語/01_アジア/第20回アジア競技大会競技プログラム.pdf   https://www.aichi-nagoya2026.org/files/common/260427競技スケジュール/01_日本語/01_アジア/第20回アジア競技大会デイリースケジュール.pdf   https://www.aichi-nagoya2026.org/files/common/260427競技スケジュール/01_日本語/01_アジア/第20回アジア競技大会セッションスケジュール.pdf   On the sports programme PDF, Padel is #25 and Teqball is #38.
    • looks like the agreement is the international federations are in fact hosting the event, not the AG organizers, so everything is up to them to make it happen.   Teqball is now confirmed to have 5 events (singles and doubles) does it mean easy 5 gold medals for Thailand ?   Padel is not 100% confirmed yet. I assume there are still talks ongoing between the IF and the Japanese organizers.
    • I feel like this year's Eurovision is more wide open than ever 😂   There isn't a clear favorite, and that makes everything more exciting. Finland is looking strong, sure, but Ukraine always knows how to surprise people and connect with them. I was checking out the odds a bit, and I was struck by how quickly they're rising.   By the way, I found a site that compares the odds pretty clearly: https://casasdeapuestaseurovision.com/   It’s nothing special, but it gives you an idea of how things are shaping up before the semifinals. Although we all know how this goes… at Eurovision, everything can change in a matter of minutes
