heywoodu 13,560 Posted May 2, 2018 #3 Share Posted May 2, 2018 (edited) Yay Israel, I already can't wait to be thrown dead with Eurosport's non-stop Israel commercials. I also can't wait for the Tour de France to start in Taiwan and the Vuelta a España to get started in Botswana. Dunadan 1,103 Posted May 2, 2018 #4 Share Posted May 2, 2018 (edited) I'd like to read the comments when Il Giro started in Northern Ireland or the Netherlands for money. Agger 1,591 Posted May 2, 2018 #5 Share Posted May 2, 2018 So happy to see Niklas Eg in a GT. He was a huge talent when he was young but had some health problems. Will be interesting to see how he'll do on a Trek team that seems to go for stage wins. He did well in Croatia even though he was meant as a helper for Brambilla. heywoodu 13,560 Posted May 2, 2018 #6 Share Posted May 2, 2018 Astana is going to destroy everyone. Four mountain stage wins for Lopez to begin with, Bilbao, Hirt, Kangert and Lutsenko will all win an attackers stage and LuLu takes two stages as well in the prime of his career. Vinokourov got mad at the beginning of the year so everyone has been flying this year and they're not gonna stop Oh and Israel Cycling Academy is probably going to sprint with 2, 3 or even 4 riders every sprint again, leading to more results like one sprint with a 9th, 12th and 15th place like they often do this year, instead of actually focussing on one guy for the sprint. BORA-tactics. Crap. That's sad because Pozzato and sad because undisclosed personal reasons are never good... Gianlu33 3,574 Posted May 3, 2018 Author #10 Share Posted May 3, 2018 Giro d'Italia Stage 1: Jerusalem - Jerusalem The stage is an individual time trial running through the city. The roads are variably wide and the route is very wavy, with several bends and constantly changing gradients. Split time is taken at km 5.1. At km 7.3, the route takes in a short, well-lit tunnel. Final kilometres:the last 3 km are wavy, still on city roads. The route descends slightly in the first part, with a bend 750 m before the finish. The final 300 m run steeply uphill, with gradients peaking 9% over the last 100 m. The home straight is on 6.5-m wide tarmac.
