  3. So, It was really a very long period since Slovaia had 3 athletes on points in the womens biathlon. Today was a Very nice day for us. Especially great efforts by both Fialková sisters. Paulína once again showed that she can in a perfect day fight against the best in the world. today she had 10th best skiing times !!! which helped her despite 2 penalty loops to finish in top 15. But the moment of the day was her sister Ivona, incredible long waiting for her very first points in world cup came finally to the end today, with only 1 miss in the standing shooting and very good skiing (17th fastest of the day) in general fantastic skiing of our girls today . she ended together with her more famous sister in the top 20. Also Jana Gereková finishing her season here in PyeongChang this weekend, tried to finally earn her best seasons result, and she was very close, todays 27th place is her second best result this season. same as for her team mates, pitty for this 1 penalty, otherwise it would be 3rd top 20 today. Terézia Poliaková was again slow, as all current season, unfortunately she had also a very bad shooting resulting in 80th place, far from the points. In overall, today was a crazy day for our womens biathlon, even without Nastya we achieved by far our best race in a couple of last seasons since Kuzmina wins in World cup finals in Oslo 3 years ago. We collected absolutely crazy 365 points for the Nations cup today !!!!!! what apitty our 17th place looks fixed, we are 137 points behind 16th USA, but at least our 5 olympic quotas looks now pretty well assured, since we have currently a very confortable 1111 points advantage over 21st place of Slovenia. in the 4 starters next seasons world cup battle we gained today also a very nice amount, now we are 547 points ahead of 18th Japan. So once again very well done babes ! congrats ! great race !

  5. Impossible to find anything official about it anywhere, I just know that the final list will be counted from the IBU points list published 1 day after the last event of the last trimester before the WOG, which is the 2nd trimester 2017/18, so I assume the 1st and 2nd next seasons trimesters will be considered...but ofc as I said it´s not 100% official, it´s just my oppinion..maybe someone else will know something more
  6. FIS NORDIC SKIING WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS 2017 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Women's 4x5km Team Relay Final Results Norway FALLA Maiken Caspersen WENG Heidi JACOBSEN Astrid Uhrenholdt BJOERGEN Marit 52:21.5 Sweden HAAG Anna KALLA Charlotte ANDERSSON Ebba NILSSON Stina 53:23.1 Finland SAARINEN Aino-Kaisa NISKANEN Kerttu MONONEN Laura PARMAKOSKI Krista 53:23.6 100th Championship gold medal for Norway with relay win Norway has won it's 100th gold medal at a Championship (includes Olympics). This gold came in the ladies' 4 x 5 km relay at the 2017 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Lahti, Finland. The 2017 Sprint World Champion Maiken Caspersen Falla was given the 1st leg spot for Norway and not only held her own but skied away to give her team a slight lead at the first exchange. At the first exchange it was down to a four-team lead pack with Norway, Sweden, Finland and Poland. Poland had Justyna Kowalczyk as their lead off skier. Kikkan Randall of the USA was the 5th team into the exchange just behind the leading group. On the second leg Norway's lead was gone quickly after fast starts from Sweden's Charlotte Kalla and Finland's Kerttu Niskanen. The quick start for Kalla proved to be a bit to much as Niskanen went to the front and pushed the pace over the final few kilometers and at the second exchange it was just Norway and Finland together. Impressive skiing from both Norway's Astrid Uhrenholdt Jacobsen and Sweden's youngster Ebba Andersson changed the dynamics of the competition with Norway out front alone and Sweden and Finland battling for the silver medal position. Despite the team lead Norway's anchor skier Marit Bjoergen still recorded the fastest time on the final leg and brought Norway home for the gold medal. The race for silver came down to the final 300 meters with Stina Nilsson of Sweden overtaking Finland's Krista Parmakoski coming off the final downhill to secure the silver medal by 0.5 seconds ahead of Finland who settled for the bronze. The US team skied to a solid 4th place finish +1:33.8 back of Norway and just over 30 seconds off the podium. Russia took the 5th place position almost a minute behind the USA. 7. oh no, I´m really satisfied, maybe it sounded too harsh, but no, it wasn´t my intentions this is a super day, I´m very happy about their performances, the girls deserved it, especially I´m mega happy with first ever points for Ivona, we knew she can do it for years, but always something happened and she finished far behind, her best WC results before todays race was 43rd place in Oslo WCh.. so finally!!! the comment about shooting was maybe a bit exaggerated I admit, they have repeatedly demonstrated even much worse shooting in the past
  8. well, it is not that so many other nations are missing, not many countries have capacities to form a relay, for example from todays missing entries I would say that only France not sending a relay is quite surprising and unusual
  9. well, this is possible, I just wrote what our commentator said
  10. 3 GIRLS ON POINTSSS (and without Kuzmina) !!!!!!!! Ivona Fialková with her absolute careers best. first time ever she won points in the world cup standing !!! Congrats Ivka!! Paulína with 8th fastest skiing time !!! wow congrats Paulína ! this was very very very succesful race for us, something like this didn´t happened for a f....g long while pitty once again with our miserable shooting, I don´t even want to try to imagine what ranks we would have today with perfect shooting...pitty for this shooting, but maybe it would be too much
  11. Marie Dorin-Habert DNF after big crash...she was currently 3rd after 2nd shooting
  12. another jewel from Richard Pánik last night, what a move against Evgeny Malkin this guy has really his best ever season this year..already 17 + 17 this year so far
  13. sounds great btw if they will not find a 4th for the team, maybe the 3 remaining can ask for slovak citizenship and we will have a relay too

  15. as far as I know, there no special requirements for the relays in cross-country skiing at WCH and WOG. only the age limit, the youngest allowed skier can not be younger than 16 years. so in fact every country which has qualified at least 4 skiers for the WCh or WOG is free to enter a relay.
  16. FIS NORDIC SKIING WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS 2017 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Antti Aalto provides success for Finland Local hero Antti Aalto surprisingly won the qualification for the individual competition on the large hill at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Lahti (FIN). The 21-year-old had the longest jump on Wednesday evening with 128.5 m and secured the first place with his total of 123.4 points. Andreas Stjernen of Norway came in second with 125 m and 121.8 points. The third place went to Daiki Ito of Japan, who scored 116.3 points with his jump on 121.5 m. Newly crowned Junior World Champion Viktor Polasek of the Czech Republic showed a convincing performance in fourth with 119.5 m, Swiss Simon Ammann can also be more than satisfied with his fifth place. The four-time Olympic Champion posted a jump of 124.5 m, but due to the lower judges' marks he came in behind the Top 3 today. Very good performance of the Finnish team Jarkko Maeaettae and Ville Larinto in sixth and seventh made it a very successful day for the hosting team of Finland. Janne Ahonen also had no problems to qualify in 16th and so Finland will be represented by a complete team of four in the competition tomorrow. With Tomas Vancura in eighth a second young Czech jumper made the Top 10, that were completed by Noriaki Kasai and Dawid Kubacki, who tied for ninth. Success for Swiss and Americans It was a very good qualification day for the teams of Switzerland and the USA, who will also have all four of their athletes competing on Thursday evening. Besides Simon Ammann, also Kilian Peier could achieve a good result for Switzerland today in 13th, best US American athlete was Michael Glasder on a good 14th place. The two Estonians Kaarel Nurmsalu and Martti Nomme also qualified for the competition, Czech Roman Koudelka, on the other hand, landed already at 98 m and failed to make the cut. Best jumper of the already pre-qualified athletes was Peter Prevc with 127.5 m. The Slovene already ahd the longest jump in today's trial round with 125.5 m and is definitely in the shape to fight for a medal. Besides Peter Prevc, Manuel Fettner and Piotr Zyla, both with 121.5 m, were the only other athletes of this top group to jump over the 120 m mark. Full Qualification Results Here Race Replay
