  1. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that. I would argue Merkel has a moral backbone because she has stood up for the weak and unrepresented, instead of listening to the calls of truly hateful (or in most cases, fearful) people.
  2. So they can get killed in their native country?
  3. You what starts a good, civil conversation? Telling someone their super naive of the start. I’m well aware of the true nature of religion. There’s a good reason I’m agnostic. However, is a distinction to be made between reality and fiction. I am a democratic socialist. I want what’s best for people, so I will always fight for the people. It’s not that I’m naive, it’s that religion took me to dark places, and I truly believe that it can be improved. The same goes for government. As for journalism, I have to disagree with you. Journalism is about the truth until big corporations get involved and lure journalists in with better pay. At that point those journalists no longer write journalism, they write propaganda.
  4. During the AIMAG some journalists actually had the opportunity to talk to some the people who clean the streets. They do their jobs super diligently during the night, and asked to be unseen by morning.
  5. Has anyone else been watching Chernobyl on HBO? It’s absolutely amazing. My dad and I watched the first episode because there was nothing else on we were interested in watching, but it was so damn good that it became one of my favorite TV shows. HBO has been killing it lately. This show was just so damn good, and I watched most of it during a hail storm, which really added some effect. I’d love to know other users thoughts about the show.
  6. I know, it just seems weird to me. It isn’t something I’d would ever see myself thinking in their position (at least at their age). I mean it obviously doesn’t matter what I think, but I am glad they were promoting good sexual standards at least.
  7. Looks suspicious . Never trust the Dutch. Their speed skating coaches can’t even count laps properly...
  8. I don’t know. I’m completely behind safe sex, and standardized sexual education (which the US lacks, I never really received any), and the promotion of health sexual standards. BUT, I just feel like the wrong message is being sent here. Relationships that went down in that village will not least. That being said, I’m really considering put down a $0.69 bid (for charity, obviously).
  9. I too see what Olympic and multi-sport memorabilia is available on online, in case it’s anything I’d love to own. That being said the item below leaves me with so many questions, I think I’ll pass on this one.
  10. The front page is now up-to-date with all the work I’ve done so far. They’re will be more edits made soon.
  11. Not necessarily...You can just create your own version of it and put it in the Olympics, and then lose miserably there.
  12. Damn! You just did Uruguay dirty. Also, I totally agree with what you said about the US and China, and to be fair when I watch the Olympics McDonalds and Coca-Cola advertising is everywhere, so it does feel like you’re cheering for them almost (which is just disgusting)
  13. It’s cause the Netherlands has no haters, since y’all are one of the leaders in international, have areas where pot (weed, Mary Jane, kush, marijuana, whatever other slang terms there are) is not, not illegal, and you guys are always so happy on your little cycles and skates and canals. (Also, huge fan of Dutch treats (as in candy and food in general))
  14. Can I have a link to said form. I want to see what secrets you guys are hiding from us
  15. Well if your from Catalonia you’re in the most technical already from Andorra.
  16. I’ve always had a soft spot for Liechtenstein and Kazakhstan for reason. I’ve liked them for as long as I can remember. I actually used to cheer against the US when we would play one of those two countries
  17. I’ve always had a soft spot for small countries when it comes to sports, so I was wondering what countries you guys cheer for outside your own? This is the place to discuss being a sports fan of a Nation other than the one you live in.
  18. I liked “becuase I would like to immigrate to the United States” as an answer to “What do you do?”
  19. In all fairness when they “purchased” the land probably in the Middle Ages, there wasn’t conservation, scientific studies, outdoor recreation, or any who would dare go against them to purchase any land. The Catholic Church should not hold any land titles other than in areas where they built a place of worship on the land (that goes for every religion). Religion should be about what’s best for the people, not what’s best for those at the top.
  20. It meant to bring this up with you @hckosice but then I forgot, but now I remembered. Why the hell is the Czech Republic giving a bunch of public land (that the government took very goof care of) back the Catholic Church? If there is but one thing the communists did right it was to take the Catholic Church’s land away. I’m curious to here what you know/think about this.
  21. Sounds like Sagans interviews when he first came to California. “How was the race today?”, “Good.”. “Who was your hardest competition today?” Response in Slovakia or Czech or whatever the hell yall speak
  22. Don’t make me bring the orange into this ugly colors discussion .
  23. Well the kids that come here have also been exposed to a fluent society at a much younger age to I guess, maybe that has something to do with it?
