    Well, It looks like today’s podcast will be delayed. Why? You ask. Becuase the results website is completely down and so broken that I (and Vojthas) cannot find the results we need. I will release yesterday’s soon (when I’m done throwing a child’s tantrum). I’m sorry y’all.

    Yeah that’s what a lot of American and British journalists were saying about the opening ceremony. Nothing says Italy like talking about peace and tolerance and then letting a questionably racist person hold your torch in the stadium. Though I get the feeling, and I could be wrong, that Naples has a pretty left leaning, but maybe I’m wrong?

    It’s not close enough to the coast to create any “good” waves. It made my bed shake hella hard though.

    That was a 5.4 aftershock, but it appears to more widespread then the 6.4, so it may have closer to the surface or whatever. I’m freaked out though

    It’s just after 4AM here. Why am I up? That would be the work of the 4.9 aftershock that just rumbled the area again. This one actually felt much more powerful than the 6.4 from yesterday.

    Because it’s the 4th of July, I won’t be able to release today’s recap for another few hours (probably around the same time as tomorrow’s) because of the damn fireworks going off everywhere. I’m sorry for the inconvenience

    The USGS doesn’t seem to think so...There’s obviously chance (stopped typing to feel and aftershock), but I wouldn’t say that it’s high based off what our experts (some of the best in the world) have said. The bigger scandal is that our early detection system picked it up, but didn’t warn people in time (though there hasn’t been any major injuries reported). All in all the opinion is that it was slightly scary, but also really cool to be a part of.

    Yeah I’m more pissed about missing the last 20 minutes of action because of people calling to check-in. The earthquake was about 60-70 miles from me and a 6.6. I’ve been through earthquakes before so no biggie. My house has no damage (not even a single item fell ) and my family is fine.
