  1. I’m going to find a way to blacklist the podcast in Croatia. It shouldn’t be hard, I’ll just watch out for those people wearing ugly checkers.
  2. Well I’ve heard a lot of Europeans speak English because the Air Force base near where I live is a NATO affiliated one I believe. I know we’ve at least had Danish, Dutch, Scottish, and German families in town (and at my old high school) before. So if I didn’t know where you lived I would’ve said Brazilian accented English in all honesty, but it sounds close to the German accented English too. Your English is closer to American English though I would say. @dcro I don’t know if @heywoodu would have a strong accent because Dutch is the closer language to English, and from the Dutch kids I’ve heard speak English, they are all (at least when they come here for the 2 year stay or whatever) highly fluent and have a barely noticeable accent.
  3. I’m curious what you guys thought about the way I speak English. Supposedly there’s actually a branch of English in California that’s becoming more and more distinct from other parts of the language.
  4. You know, sometimes I just forget about events. The ICC World Cup, ANOC Beach Games, and Rugby Sevens World Series were all last minute editions. It also happened the weekend before so it was kind of in a gray area.
  5. Today I learned how much I’ll pay to watch sports in a foreign country at a games with no discernible major talent. Plus, the Euro is doing better than the USD (by quite a bit), so it was not 9.99 for me.
  6. Thank You guys for the great feedback. I will to note of all feedback when producing future episodes, though just know that I can probably not make everyone happy, but really thank you guys for supporting this project.
  7. Because I want to make sure my audience gets the right web address and not some off brand Balkan playboy website.
  8. I just remembered that to it’s pronounced Sh-äng-hai (as in you put emphasis on the the sh and a and g sound). No that’s my bad and fair criticism. It’s becuase I’ve been listening to American (millennial) commentators when watching the event.
  9. As I just told Dcro, We we’re trying to keep it simple this first episode, but I intend to move closer to some more story like stuff too.
  10. We mean to do that, We just wanted to make it as simple as possible for the first episode, to make sure we something that was good and a basic marker.
  11. Also, I found this website: http://mnesport.tv/index.php/component/osmembership/standardni-paket/sign-up?Itemid=837 They have every sport (except shooting) Available on demand for €9.99, and I believe they all have graphics and such.
  12. I was entirely sure that they were. I seem to remember a commentator saying that during the Commonwealth Games. Well RIP factual accuracy.
  13. So were Snowboard Slopestyle, Ski Slopestyle, SkiCross, SnowboardCross, Ski Halfpipe, Snowboard Big Air; and they are some of the most popular events at the youth Olympics and more importantly Winter Olympics. I would love to see MTB Downhill make it into the Olympics some day because it really is an amazing, and technologically difficult event. I’m also amongst the camp ok with the addition of skateboarding. It was bound to happen one day. Same with a freestyle cycling event. And for the purpose of Olympic longevity it’s better sooner than later. I will also say that I don’t approve of the format of either events, though BMX freestyle has a lot more potential currently than skateboarding because UCI actually cares about it (even if they only gave it 18 quota places in Tokyo).
  14. I would have preferred mountain bike slopestyle or downhill myself.
  15. I see I make fun that ugly orange country you call the Netherlands, so then you have bust my balls about the pronunciation of a made up word. Noted. (I’m actually quite curious to know as well)
  16. The podcast is also available on Breaker, RadioPublic, and Google Podcasts (Android users only).
  17. Im almost positive I could make a similar graphic for each year, but this is impressive
  18. Thanks for listening. I’ll contact you if your expertise are ever needed
  19. I’m assuming this is the general schedule, but it looks like it hasn’t been finalized yet. The sports are Final I believe.
  20. Alrighty, so it appears it is time for an update. I have been working on my exciting projects lately, of which I will go into further detail in a moment. I had deleted the Totallympics TV YouTube channel in order to better serve my needs. It will now be easier for me to access those playlists and post them on here (hopefully). I will be updating the links on the front page and in other posts over the following days. I will try to provide a weekly streaming schedule sometime in the feature for all multi-sport and Olympic qualification events. So now let’s talk about some of the exciting projects: 1: I now have the ability to record and broadcast live sport. I don’t know how useful this could be, but It could be used for at least small journalistic segments, and as a way to post highlights I have been authorized to. This is more for personal honestly, but I will try to use it to create some cool stuff for my Totallympics friends too. 2: I have my own website and blog. I talk mostly about sports and politics because that is what I like. I also have links to my sports and nature photography on there as well. You can also find my poetry on there too. 3: I have a new YouTube channel where I can hopefully post/broadcast some exciting stuff. 4: This is the most important new edition for my Totallympic friends. Me and @Vojthas have put around a month of work into getting a podcast of the ground. It is called the “Totallympics Weekly Update” and it (at least for now) focuses on recapping the sports from the week (obviously). I hope in the future to post special episodes that talk about weird sport stories, Olympic facts, explain weird sports, etc. I can also announce now that daily shows are planned for the African Beach Games, European Games, and Pan American Games. I will add a schedule somewhere for people to view episodes, episode length, topics, etc. This is a new Project and it’s something me and @Vojthas are really happy to bring you guys. We ask for your support in both helping to make it and listen to it. In the future it may be uploaded to YouTube with pics, photos, etc.. You can currently find our podcast on Spotify, Pocketcasts, and Anchor; all you have to do is search the name. If your interesting in helping out please DM me. That is the end of the Update, here is a link to the first episode: https://anchor.fm/matthew-nelsen
