Hey, olympic fans. We could discuss, day after day, how the olympics would have lookood like if they were to happen in 2020 as planned. That could be fun, a nice discussion, good for the hard times when there are no live sport on tv and we are all fighting with this virus, It could look like this; Let;s pretend this is day -2, July 22nd What are your predictions for: 1/. SOFTBALL - Women's tournament Australia - Japan Italy - United States Mexico - Canada and a general question considering sotball - do you think playing softball games(opening event for the whole olympics) in Fukushima is a good idea? Is it safe out there after the earthquake and damaged reactor? Would these games be a success to show the world that it is safe and clear over there? 2./ FOOTBALL - Women's tournament The qualifications haven't finished yet. What are your predictions for remaining spots? I say CHINA will qualify with a win over Korea Republic And CHILE will qualify with a win over Cameroon I made a kind of draw for groups using FIFA ranking (and a rule that only one team from the same continental association in one group) and the first matches would be: what are your predictions? group A Japan - New Zealand Sweden - Canada group B United States - Great Britain China - Chile group C Netherlands - Brazil Australia - Zambia and a general question considering football - will Megan Rapinoe be one of the greatest stars of the Tokyo Olympics? How will her postmatch look like? Any strong opinions from her and interesting statements? and which player will score the most goals in opening matches? Let's play the predictons games. It may be fun. If you like it, I will prepare the questions for day 23th July later, Greetings, stay healthy, stay home! Rafal

It looks there will be no olympics this summer. Let's play the game then. Let's do the olympics online. The game is IT SHOULD HAVE HAPPENED TODAY, Today is 23rd. Tomorrow, on 24th, there should be the opening ceremony. The questions for tomorrow, 24 th: 1. WHO WILL LIT THE OLYMPIC FLAME? 2. WHO WILL BE YOUR COUNTRY FLAG BEARER? 3. WHICH COUNTRY WILL LOOK THE BEST IN THE PARADE OF NATIONS? And what happened so far? On 22nd, sotfball and women's football. Japan beats Australia in opening softball match, it was played in Fukushima to show the world it is safe out there. And first win for TEAM CANADA in softball against Mexico. In women's football USA plays very well, an easy win over New Zealand, postmatch interview with Megan Rapinoe gets viral - strong words on Trump, on world situation, on women rights, on minorities rights etc. Canada wins over Zambia 3-0. On 23rd, softball again and men's football. US proves to be too strong for Canada in a softball, but don't worry, there will be many chances for a revenge in other disciplines. In men's football great play by Spain (3-0 vs Korea Rep.) and by Argentina (3-0 vs New Zealand). Good games for France (2-1 vs Ivory Coast) and Brazil (2-1 vs South Africa), It is a pity Canada didn;t qualify, but Mexico and USA were too strong in qualifying championships. And they prove they are strong with Mexico-Romania 1-0 and USA-New Zealand 1-1. The biggest upset is Egypt win over Germany 2-1 with great play by Mo Salah who scores twice!!! Let;s play together, here is the schedule https://tokyo2020.org/en/schedule/ and here are qualification systems https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2020_Summer_Olympics#Sports

O tak, złoto w kajakach byłoby super, ile można czekać, no ile? :-) pozdrawiam serdecznie, RG

Ok, you may be right, but that is exactly why 110 hurdles and HJ is very interesting for me, and 800 free is only interesting a bit.... and as many many said before - why didn't thay add 50 back, 50 fly and 50 breast? Would be much better to watch than additonal 800 and 1500 Let's put the thread - PREDICTION OF THE EVENTS WITH THE CLOSEST CONTESTS AT THE TOKYO 2020 OLYMPICS - it can be fun :-))))))

Poland Archery: 1 man, 1 women - 2 Artistic Swimming: Athletics: approx. 60 but I don't really understand this new qualification system - where can I find the explanation of it? Badminton: one player in each singles competition and two doubles - 6 Baseball: 0 Basketball: 0 - which is very very sad, I would love to see men's team in the olympics, they played in 1980 last time Beach Volleyball: 2 men pairs, 1 female - 6 Boxing: 1 woman, 1 man - 2 Canoeing - Slalom: K1 M, C1 M, K1 W - 3 Canoeing - Sprint: a lot of them - 10 at least Cycling - BMX: 0 Cycling - Mountain Bike: 2 women, 1 man - 3 Cycling - Road: 4 men, 3 women - 7 Cycling - Track: app. 8 Diving: 1 men Equestrian: 1 place in eventing Fencing: one team, and few individuals - 6 Field Hockey: 0 Football: 0 Golf: 0 Gymnastics - Artistic: 1 female Gymnastics - Rhythmic: 1 female Gymnastics - Trampoline: 0 Handball: 0 - which is very sad because men's team was in the semis in Rio Judo: 3 men, 3 women - 6 Karate: 3 Modern Pentathlon: 2 female, 1 man - 3 Rowing: a lot - sth like 20 Rugby Sevens: 0 Sailing: 10 Shooting: 5 Skateboarding: 0 Softball: 0 Sport Climbing: 1 - one man Surfing: 0 Swimming: 12-18, it all depends how many relays we can qualify Table Tennis: both teams can make it - 6 Taekwondo: 1 male, 1 female - 2 Tennis: Agnieszka Radwańska is slowly finishing her career, I'm not even sure she's gonna play in Tokyo, but if she does - then 1 more woman in singles, 1 man in singles, and some doubles players - all together sth like 7 Triathlon: 1 man, 1 female - 2 Volleyball: men team - 12 Water Polo: 0 Weightlifting: 3 men, 3 female - 6 - or 0 because we don't make it due to doping cases , and to be honest - I don't really care Wrestling: 3 women, 3 freestyle men, 3 greco-roman - 9 All together: 227 - which is a bit less than I wrote here before (250) - but maybe some other team sports can make it? Women's volleyball and handball especially - 227 + 24 = 251. But it's wishful thinking I'm afraid
