  1. I agree. But I think a punishment for one and only one missed test by not being there, should not be that severe. A mistake can always happen. But if you mistake twice or three times in a row... Like a yellow card and red card. And I think there should be a lifetime olympic ban punishment for the most severe doping violations for individual sportsmen. Maybe they could participate in world championships after some years but never go to the olympics. I couldn't stand watching e.g. Adrian Zieliński in Tokyo or in Paris.
  2. @rybakBut the Kenyans athletes who were not found guilty of doping violations should be allowed to start,

  5. That would be good. Winning our beloved medal in volleyball without Russians (... and Italians) in competition would not taste the same.
  6. Benedetta Pilato is extremely impressive. I wonder how much faster than today she will be able to swim in Tokyo. A medal looks more and more within her reach. That would be something. Ruta Meilutyte was 15 years old when she won in London, remember?
  7. I wonder if Russians will be able to complete in Tokyo and Beijing in team sports as kind of neutrals, like they did in Pyeongchang with hockey team

  9. @ahjfcshfghb the article is very good. I only wish you wrote something about cycling men's road race - 90 riders in a race is not enough. I understand they try to change something, but they shouldn't mess with the most classic events, the core of the games. A race with 150 riders would be much more interesting. But anyway, I hope that both Tokyo and Paris will be fascinating to watch, too.

  14. Sixteen-year-old Kiwi swimming sensation books spot at Tokyo Olympics Photo by BW Media Teenage swimming sensation Erika Fairweather's notched up another remarkable achievement today, qualifying for next year's Olympics. Competing in the Auckland championships late this afternoon, Fairweather comfortably booked her place at the Tokyo games. The 16-year-old posted a time of 4 minutes, 7.43 seconds in the 400-metre freestyle - a time which is nearly five tenths of a second under the qualifying time. "I cant even put it into words, I'm just so gobsmacked I guess," Fairweather said. "Im not going to lie, it hurt a lot but I was really determined and I wanted to get the time so I'm just glad I was able to pull it off."
  15. Maybe they go through Montmartre, they could find short hilly streets there
  16. I wonder how the cycling road route in Paris 2024 will look like? Finish on Champs Elysee is obvious, but what else? Race for sprinters only or any possible small climbs on the way? What do you think?
  17. I know Maryna Gąsienica-Daniel is not close to Petra Vlhova, but I hope for a decent result today. Bib no. 37.
  18. #221 - Moscow 1980 - Athletics - M 3000 m Steeplechase Final - Bronisław Malinowski chasing down Filbert Bayi. I couldn't find a video of the whole race in better quality unfortunately. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WUQzYG76aA0&t=19s This one will probably not work if you are not in Poland. 23. But road cycling is pretty much team effort. And how many riders from one NOC will be allowed to start? I believe not 5 or not even 4, like in Tokyo. That is not enough. I would like to watch a great race with majority of best riders. There are so many good e.g. Belgian or even French riders that 3-men teams are too small. 130 riders in Tokyo will be ok. In Rio there were 144. Cutting down to 90 is very disappointing.
  24. For me the worst change here by far is only 90 riders in men's cycling road race. What a shame! This is only half of an average peleton. If no other reasons are convincing for IOC, there is one more - Champs Elysee is too wide for a such a small bunch of people. It will look awful!
  25. #225 - Rio 2016 - Rowing - M Single Sculls Final - this race was too close to call. Maybe they should have given two gold medals?! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=67Jqvum3L2k&t=5s
