  1. Too bad, Prizmic came up shy for an amazing upset On the bright side for the media, the 'hunt for the historic X'th title everyone was waiting for' is still going on
  2. New hype train has left the station and it's called Olivia Puranen Only 15 years old and in her first official FIS season she is doing fantastic, yesterday she even put a full 20 seconds on World Cup semi-regular Anni Alakoski in a 10k classic. https://www.fis-ski.com/DB/general/results.html?sectorcode=CC&raceid=45886
  3. Asian Tour started yesterday, with some decent 85+ averages in the final stages, but also this: With leg 1 being this beauty
  4. Nice that the match Eurosport is focusing on is actually interesting for a change Normally they always go for the big names in the first rounds, which usually lead to just wasting TV time since those matches are so often blowouts, but this is very interesting!
  5. And while not eating, booing everything and everyone, because of course it's the Australian Open, where many people don't go to watch tennis, but to be annoying
  6. Prizmic takes the second set against Djokovic I know, not gonna happen, but still
  7. It does have ice hockey matches listed, so that helps, thanks! Although I wish they'd simply have it in a regular way online, instead of as a massive PDF where you need to zoom in endlessly and then scroll back and forth There are such excellent systems, like the Sportresult one I believe (say *eventname*.sportresult.com), but they always have to somehow create their own cumbersome thing at the IOC....not sure the schedule and results system is even available yet, less than a week before the start?
  8. I am highly surprised they didn't spend the time by playing one of various forms of hockey Meanwhile, Brazil's cross-country skiers aren't even on snow yet and are at 30+ degrees temperatures right now. But you know, why try to acclimatize if you're going to finish last anyway (which is an attitude no athlete should have of course, but it is the attitude of the federation, save money on everything possible, because the results will be bad anyway.....duh).
  9. Yeah, because they're at least smart enough to know that's a rather bad idea for themselves.
  10. Draw seems like a rather nice result for Egypt, no? @thepharoah
  11. Yeah that's what I meant with my other post In terms of rescheduling, sometimes there just isn't much choice, but for example Kitzbühel is simply a scheduled double header for some reason (money, I know), which simply makes the Streif win less....well, classic.
  12. To be fair, 10 men's teams is only 1 fewer than four years ago (to keep with the Olympic cycle in terms of comparison), and that still included Russia. Another four years back, there were also only 11 teams, and that included both Russia and Belarus. Four years back again, there were a bit more, with 14 men's teams, but only 9 women's teams (including Russia and Belarus). All in all, at least as far as the past 10-14 years or so are concerned, the numbers aren't really going down that much if you don't count the two now banned countries. I do agree that in general it's a shame to have so few, but I also think it's understandable given that short track speed skating is quite a niche sport.
  13. Oh wow, did the two Italian ladies in the 1500m final drink some Felix Felicis (for Harry Potter fans, for those who aren't, the other name for it is 'Liquid Luck')?
  14. Also, the water in the Red Sea - and a majority of other seas - is apparently red.
  15. Thanks! For now I might just put it in my own agenda on a day by day basis, like just a thing at the end saying "Check today's results" instead of every match, but this will definitely be useful.
  16. Are there any full schedules for ice hockey and curling yet? The official website is useless since it either goes to that simple calendar thing that says "yes, there is ice hockey on day X" or enters a loop where clicking on 'Schedule' brings one back to the home page, and on Wikipedia things are still eerily empty
  17. Yeah, and it shouldn't be too hard. One doesn't even need to go with a full-scale top level production for everything, but at least a few cameras along the cross-country track or something isn't too difficult. Last week we were watching a Continental Cup cross-country skiing event in Oberwiesenthal: nothing fancy, but there were a few cameras and that made the races be watchable, that's all we need...
  18. Well, too bad they have the same content, but Eurosport's player and overall system is WAY better and more user-friendly than the Olympic Channel things (both in terms of finding things, and at least having basic hotkeys for forward/backward/pause), so at least I'm happy I have a good alternative
  19. Oh absolutely, for Wengen it's just unfortunate in this case and if downhills are cancelled, of course they should try and replace it. But Kitzbuhel's downhills are both not replacements, are they? Usually the FIS website would list that, like they did for Wengen, but for Kitzbuhel they didn't.
  20. The only thing I heard is someone on a Dutch forum saying "apparently he has an open fracture on his right leg, according to Mario", but I have no idea who Mario is (the Dutch ES commentator and the duo on German TV both aren't called Mario as far as I know), so yeah... no idea where he got that from
  21. Jack Crawford didn't hold his nerves too well it seems, unfortunately (but understandably, always difficult when you have to wait half an hour).
  22. German commentator (and co-commentator Marco Büchel) are angry about there being two downhills both here and in Kitzbühel. Both because it might be too tough on the athletes, but also because it devalues the classics: there should be one Streif winner, one Lauberhorn winner, it becomes less special if there's more of them.
  23. Step 1: he's conscious and apparently talking.
