  1. I would absolutely have gotten Jaque, yes Hirano, definitely not.
  2. Has anyone else noticed a problem with the schedule on the website? https://www.worldaquatics-doha2024.com/en/schedules It shows only one single final on the first day: But according to Wikipedia (I know, but still), there should be 4 finals on that day. Even if that's wrong, surely an evening session consisting of the 400m freestyle final and 100m butterfly semis and nothing else seems....wrong?
  3. Yeah, I generally watch every single World Cup event (plus European, Four Continents and world championships), and there's indeed often quite a bit of pushing, but usually this much definitely gets punished. She really got away very well
  4. Here the crazies just go yelling that WEF is the source of all problems and in every conspiracy they can think of, from 9/11 to vaccines, they simply yell 'WEF!' a few times and that's their argument why WEF is bad
  5. I mean, technically speaking it's a list of people....but does one really want to belong to that list? Only Kim Jong-un and Putin are missing
  6. Wait, meanwhile the Dutch U18 women are playing a world championships, apparently in the Netherlands? They even got bronze there I'm reading, so I guess most of the potential Gangwon girls are there....but that's just weird scheduling Anyhow, according to what I'd say is the Dutch federation's website the Dutch girls lost their first match 1-6 to....Austria. They might want to check up on their English and flag knowledge https://www.ijshockeynederland.nl/nieuws/eerste-wedstrijd-jeugd-olympische-spelen-verloren
  7. I wonder if this is even the B team instead of like a Z team, but I have no idea....it's not like this is mentioned anywhere here unfortunately We have a bright future though, as hockey legend Naomi van As and speed skating legend Sven Kramer have a daughter (October 2018) and a son (August 2022), so they should be right there at the top when the ice hockey mixed doubles event is in the Olympics
  8. Kang pushed the other Polish girl out of silver medal position in the last turn, but jury didn't dare to penalize her at home
  9. I had missed that, but Brailsford leaving cycling is already the best cycling news of the year, even though the best time for him to leave was the day he entered the world of cycling.
  10. Finally a good day for Angel Daleman Generic English commentator was all surprised and sounded shocked even ("the very last skater, wow!!" ), despite...you know, Daleman being the youngest junior (yes, junior, not youth) world champion ever and skating with the seniors already this season, being the big favourite for today
  11. Is there any way to know who scored the goals in ice hockey? Strangely even the official reports don't seem to show anything else than the fact that a goal has been made..
  12. Yeah, that stage win was something else! Classic example of what in Dutch one would call 'turbodijen': turbo thighs, meaning someone isn't even really attacking/sprinting away, but just overpowers the entire peloton on raw pace, which is insane for such a young rider (and awesome considering it's a whole new country!)
  13. Yeah, Vlhova may not be there today, the fans most certainly are, and only real fans come out even when the hero isn't there Great job for Jasna, looking forward to the crazy scenes at Vlhova's comeback next year
  14. Hadn't really gotten around to the women's event yet, but now I did and damn Rarely seen such a massive disappointment for such a much anticipating home crowd...of all places to get injured Hopefully (and judging by their overall enthusiasm I'm definitely hopeful) the fans will come and cheer on all the other skiers tomorrow anyway, and Vlhova will be fully back to fighting strength next winter.
  15. Watching the ski jumping now, but really, there was that one guy somewhere at the IOC/LOCOG decision table who went "Hey guys, let's broadcast the ski jumping, but let's see how that works with just no graphics at all. No, I don't mean we skip the fancy things, we just don't use graphics...at all." Sigh. Edit: watched the first 10 jumpers or so, no graphics whatsoever, got angry and posted this. Continued watching and after the very first next jumper...graphics appeared
  16. Yeah, but any coach would be a little dumb if you have these athletes and put Baiba and Rastorgujevs in the regular mixed while together they are podium outsiders
  17. 9th place in the Sapporo Continental Cup for 51 year old Noriaki Kasai today https://medias2.fis-ski.com/pdf/2024/JP/3215/2024JP3215RL.pdf
  18. Excellent. I mainly wanted to know that if I checked everything I see on Eurosport, I saw everything I can possibly see and there's not something I missed
  19. Didn't have the patience and looked at the results Oh well, there are more to come!
  20. Always sad when years of injuries force athletes to retire, but still it was a nice goodbye to Thomas Dressen at the finish area
  21. Ending this period of the season with finally a clean standing shooting, come on! Meanwhile Voigt and Strelow are well on their way to a win, unless Strelow breaks down.
  22. Baiba skiing like a madwoman Only one in the entire field not even switching technique on the climb!
  23. Well never mind, what the hell Sarrazin you monster As the commentator said: "Odermatt doesn't understand the world anymore right now"
  24. Oh wow, Odermatt is such an incredible phenomenon, truly unreal.
