  1. Not sure I necessarily agree with entirely stopping 'agenda 2020' and 'gender equality' and such (only if it takes away things rather than adds things), but the main issue here seems to be deciding things without consulting the actual athletes, which should be a massive no-go.
  2. Right now it isn't about 'the most accurate takeoff' though. The approach and takeoff are merely parts of the equation, but still things one needs to master in order to be a complete long jumper.
  3. Jesus, exactly this. Part of long and triple jump is making sure your approach to the jump is correct....if you wish to take risks, you're free to do so, and it might pay off fantastically, but it might...you know, not.
  4. To be fair, is being a national team coach really a full-time job outside of the periods where national teams don't play?
  5. Lovely, can't wait for all that Apple trash to stay far away from here
  6. That would only weaken the Olympic tournament though...fun as it might be (assuming the number of participating nations stays the same)
  7. Hopefully it's being busy with good things instead of worrying things
  8. Gelinas-Beaulieu is kind of the king of the side events here, taking medals in the team sprint, team pursuit and mass start Would have loved to see him take the gold today, but silver was awesome.
  9. Obviously, it's the 50 freestyle, anyone at this level has a chance to do this in Paris
  10. Haha, Bukhov of all people takes it away from McEvoy Awesome!
  11. For people who are entirely out of the loop in terms of all things related to lacrosse, Haudenosaunee championships and whatnot...what exactly is the point (and the pros and cons and such) here?
  12. Once again, this bullshit of having a one-heat 500m nowadays....Shinhama's medal chances are decided the day before the race, for example (and those of others are of course affected by the draw....which always used to be solved super easily by simply having two heats...life can be so simple). Edit: hadn't seen it yet but holy moly Stolz Opening 9.4 was quite the sign already
  13. As long as it doesn't go at the cost of another event...
  14. The strength of Dutch speed skating is exactly it's weakness in team events. It's ridiculous to think that teams for the pursuit or sprint often don't even train together at all until the week of (or even the day of) the event
  15. Well there it is, the easiest to predict death of the year....Alexei Navalny has been murdered in Russian prison. Well, you know, he died after 'feeling unwell' and 'losing consciousness'. Totally out of nowhere, I guess.
  16. Well that women's team sprint was a laughable affair again Men's race was fun.
  17. Yeah, that's what I meant, it was not like they had a bad race in terms of shape...
  18. Then wouldn't it make sense for Hong Kong not to compete as a separate entity? Either compete as an entity with it's own anthem, or have the athletes be part of another entity with an anthem. Or, easier, don't win gold medals, but yeah
  19. The fuck happened with the skis of Strømsheim and Christiansen? This was just unreal, especially Christiansen has shown he is in very much a decent shape... Edit: some rain later on, so a classic 'bib number race'...zero chance at all for anyone with a slighly higher bib.
  20. But how about Hong Kong? If one competes as a certain entity, said entity should have an anthem.... It was even literally announced as 'the anthem of the People's Republic of China!'.
  21. Chinese anthem for a Hong Kong gold Is that a similar thing to Taiwan appearing as 'Chinese Taipei' in the world of sports, despite people knowing it's actually Taiwan?
