  1. I had no idea any of them had any Slovak descent
  2. And the Tina Maze one, those are two questions that will get you kicked out of Totallympics if you have them wrong
  3. No I honestly don't see how these questions are 'more or less easy to guess correctly' - Whose declaration of independence on 25 June 1991 was followed by the Ten-Day War? - World-renowned artist Andy Warhol was born as Andrej Varchola to parents who emigrated to the United States from which country? - Who was chosen as one filming location of Prince Caspian, the second in The Chronicles of Narnia film series due its resemblance to New Zealand (where the complete first movie was shot)? - Who is home to the highest wooden altar in the world in the Renaissance church of the medieval town of Levoča? - Whose major international airport is called Jože Pučnik Airport and has the three-letter code LJU? - Who is home to the Society for the Recognition of Roasted Potatoes as a Distinct Dish that organizes the the annual World Roast Potato Festival? - Whose official name in its native language is Slovenská republika? Varchola sounded Czech to me --> Slovakia Levoca sounded both Slovak and Slovenian to me Joze Pucnik, no idea how that sounded Slovenska, I only knew because you once said it here. How would I know where a random movie I've never even seen or had any interest in was filmed? Or how would I know which country has the World Roast Potato Festival?
  4. Exactly With the Russian input in the biathlon there could be some interest there, but I think especially in cross-country getting sort of last-minute tickets should definitely be possible. Even though the Koreans don't know yet that of course Kim Magnus is going to shine the stars out of the sky for them

  6. I'm guessing it depends on the sports...I'm only interested in cross-country (well and biathlon if there's time) but I only know whether or not I'm trying to go once the decision is final about which Brazilian female athlete will be there so I'm hoping tickets for these sports aren't sold out then
  7. 12/15, missed the potatoes, guessed the Narnia thing right and forgot the other two wrong answers Thanks to hckosice I knew about the castles And if the Novo Mesto question wouldn't have mentioned Melania Trump I would definitely have said Slovakia because I thought it'd be some sort of Czechoslovak brotherhood between Nove Mesto and Novo Mesto
  8. Yep, like in almost any election: let's hope that people make a well-informed decision, no matter what the decision is
  9. I really don't think that people mixing up Shiites/Sunnites, Portuguese/Spanish or Indoeuropean/Afroasian (heck most people won't even know those two words) is a reason not to be optimistic. Doesn't mean one should be optimistic, but mixing up things isn't the reason. The only reason I even know there are Shiites and Sunnites is because people have been blowing each other up for decades and that's in the news. And yes, for the untrained ear, Spanish and Portuguese definitely sounds alike, just like Japanese, Chinese and Korean would all sound at least somewhat similar to me. People mix up Dutch and German all the time, no reason to be pessimistic about it.
  10. Since I slept from around 06:00 to around 13:00 every day, no problems here
  11. For two weeks, yep And if I have a job at the time, I'll use my vacation days in those weeks.
  12. Yeah, because you'll need 2,5 years to recover from two weeks of upside down sleeping times
  13. Decent times for cross-country, I'll be back in the hotel early enough to have a decent sleep
  14. Why? It's perfect when it's at night: - No other sports outside the Olympics asking for attention - No non-sportsaddicted people asking for attention - Only the hardcore fans will be online all night Etc
  15. Koen Verweij is going to train with the Russians from now on, that's just fantastic Probably it's mostly because of a return to his former coach Kosta Poltavets.
  16. It's Isle of Man TT week and sadly, the week has already claimed two lives. Davey Lambert (ENG) died yesterday after crashing on Sunday and this morning, the only Dutchman in the races, Jochem van den Hoek, crashed and died. It's a strange feeling, only two days ago we had a big interview with user-sent questions on the Dutch website I write for. Question 1: "Which colour of coffin would you like to order already?", which he laughed about quite a lot I've heard. Two days later a coffin is actually the reality.. http://frontpage.fok.nl/nieuws/767062/1/1/50/interview-vlog-isle-of-man-tt-met-straatracer-jochem-van-den-hoek-1.html

  18. Well whatever their goal is, they're a bunch of assholes, that's for sure.
  19. Nobody has any opinion about the thought of having more active threads intead of throwing down everything in single central threads resulting in a ton of 'subforums' with only one active topic?
  20. If it's not related to religion in any way, they wouldn't specifically kill Sunnit muslims or blow up mosques..
  21. Also pretty cool to see someone in the semi's who's so old he even played 4-5 years on Grand Slam level for Yugoslavia
  22. It's women's tennis, chances are still exactly the same as an hour ago
  23. If you have no motivation for a good result, you won't be able to train a ton every day and if you don't train a ton every day, there's no way you're still a top-5 player
  24. Thiem
