  4. good, but not exceptional final result for Italy... we failed to reach the 50 medal target (by just 1, but still) and we're down from 16 to 13 gold medals from the past Games in Wroclaw... very good outcome in Speedskating and Archery, below expectations Finswimming and, above all, Roller Skating (it was an Italian clean sweep 4 years ago)... expecting more also from Karate, Rhythmic Gymnastics and Canoe Polo... I don't know why we didn't even participate in Sport Climbing... unfortunately, no really surprising gold came to help the cause... more in general, awful TV/streaming coverage...surely, the worst aspect of these Games...
  5. @Makedonas @George_D yesterday Italy won against Greece... it was a close match, but we managed to get away in the last couple of minutes... the final score doesn't show how even was the game...
  6. yeah, but not beacuse of of the race scheduling... they killed the sport many times already by allowing people to run instead of walk... among the girls shown on TV for more than a few seconds (the top 6/7), the only regular action was Garcia Leon's (and only after the 6th/7th kilometer)... and among the men (as usual, talking only of those shown on TV for longer than a breathe), Karlsson was the only one to have a fairly regular walk in the second half of the race (which is quite funny, as the Swede is known for not being technically good)... the Japanese guys (especially Yamanishi, in particular in the last kilometer, when he got away from his rivals) were just a scandal...they were breaking both fundamental rules, not keeping their knees blocked and running as rabbits (the air phase at any step was well visible with naked eyes on tv)... with a lot of pain in my heart, but it's really time to get rid of race walking as it stands...nowadays, in most cases it's just a fake run...
  7. Kennedy Simon, a promising youngster from the Texas University... but promising doesn't mean ready, someone could say...
  8. women's Individual 25m Pistol Gold: Teh Xiu Hong Silver: Mathilde Lamolle Bronze: Teo Shun Xie Full Results page: https://www.issf-sports.org/competitions/venue/csevent.ashx?cseventid=16671 men's Individual 50m 3-position Rifle Gold: Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar Silver: Zalan Pekler Bronze: Istvan Peni Full Results page: https://www.issf-sports.org/competitions/venue/csevent.ashx?cseventid=16669
  9. Yes, Palmisano has a hip injury and she's out for the season (and since she doesn't want to undergo any surgery, she might be done forever)... By the way, well deserved success for Leon Garcia, she's the only one walking correctly after the 6th/7th kilometer... The other girls in the leading group (the only ones in the tv pictures) were jumping like kangaroos...
  10. no Slaf at the draft? no problem...we're gonna ink Ondrej Palat... the Czech forward left Tampa and signed a new contract with the New Jersey Devils, 5 years and 30 millions... meanwhile Dylan Strome goes to Washington... but I'm still shocked by Gaudreau going to Columbus...that really came out of nothing...
  11. no, because it's a temporary venue... normally it's an exhibition pavillion with no relation to sport events... that's why the basketball players and FIBA didn't want their tournament to be hosted in that location (the 9m "only" roof was just an excuse, and it would be the same problem for handball, in case)...
  12. Mixed Team Trap Gold: Australia 1 (Penny Smith & James Willett) Silver: Australia 2 (Catherine Skinner & Thomas Derek Grice) Bronze: Germany 1 (Kathrin Murche & Andreas Loew) and China 2 (Wang Xiaojing & Yu Haicheng) Full Results page: https://www.issf-sports.org/competitions/venue/csevent.ashx?cseventid=16660
  13. women's Team Air Pistol Gold: South Korea Silver: India Bronze: Singapore Full Results page: https://www.issf-sports.org/competitions/venue/csevent.ashx?cseventid=16659 women's Team Air Rifle Gold: South Korea Silver: India Bronze: Hungary Full Results page: https://www.issf-sports.org/competitions/venue/csevent.ashx?cseventid=16657 men's Team Air Rifle Gold: India Silver: South Korea Bronze: Czech Republic Full Results page: https://www.issf-sports.org/competitions/venue/csevent.ashx?cseventid=16656 men's Team Air Pistol Gold: Italy Silver: India Bronze: Uzbekistan Full Results page: https://www.issf-sports.org/competitions/venue/csevent.ashx?cseventid=16658
  14. so, handball gets screwed and has to play the preliminary in a small hall with no air conditioning in the middle of Summer... If I were the IHF, I'd never accept this, If I were the French NT's handball players, a strike would start immediately...
  15. I agree with you... but IFSC has a different idea...
  16. a lot of moves in the last couple of days... the most important (and unexpected), Johnny Gaudreau signing a 7-year deal with Columbus at 9.75 million/year then, Vincent Trocheck signing also a 7 year deal with the NY Rangers to replace Andrew Copp, who went to Detroit (the Red Wings also signed David Perron for 2 years at 9.5 million/year, Domink Kubalik and Ben Chiarot)... Claude Giroux and Cam Talbot went to Ottawa (together with Alex DeBrincat), meanwhile Edmonton signed Jack Campbell to fill their need for a good goalie and re-signed Evander Kane for 4 years... more moves...the Avalanche lose Burakowsky (going to Seattle) and Kuemper (Going to Washington), meanwhile Carolina replaces Trocheck with Max Pacioretty and De Angelo (gone to Philly...just prepared my pop corn to watch how it goes between him and the new Flyers coach, John Tortorella ) with super-veteran Brent Burns... "my" Kings a few days ago signed Jake Fiala from Minnesota and re-signed Adrian Kempe for 4 more years... waiting for more "bombs" in the next few days...
  17. because lead is supposed to be the endurance event of sport climbing and the IFSC doesn't want to make it a "race" to the top (at the beginning of the game there wasn't even the time limit at 6 mins to complete the climb -and it was a longer climb to the top than nowadays)... p.s. however, I also find this semifinal's result tie-breaker unfair and I'd like to go just to the climbing time in the final as the only tie-breaker (then, it's just a tie and stop), but I understand the idea that's behind this choice...
  18. another busy day in Changwon... Mixed Team Air Pistol Gold: Serbia (Zorana Arunovic & Damir Mikec) Silver: Greece (Anna Korakaki & Dionysios Korakakis) Bronze: Italy 2 (Maria Varricchio & Federico Nilo Maldini) and India 2 (Palak & Shiva Narwal) Full Results page: https://www.issf-sports.org/competitions/venue/csevent.ashx?cseventid=16636 Mixed Team Air Rifle Gold: India 2 (Mehuli Ghosh & Shahu Tushar Mane) Silver: Hungary 2 (Eszter Meszaros & Istvan Peni) Bronze: Czech Republic 2 (Lucie Brazdova & Jiri Privratsky) and Israel (Olga Tashtchiev & Sergey Richter) Full Results page: https://www.issf-sports.org/competitions/venue/csevent.ashx?cseventid=16635 women's Team Trap Gold: South Korea Silver: China Bronze: Not awarded (only 2 teams at the start of the competition) Full Results page: https://www.issf-sports.org/competitions/venue/csevent.ashx?cseventid=16643 men's Team Trap Gold: Slovakia Silver: India Bronze: China Full Results page: https://www.issf-sports.org/competitions/venue/csevent.ashx?cseventid=16644
  19. @hckošice help!!! I ask for an immediate and permanent ban from any sports forum in the world... and an indictment for blasphemy and obscenity... in the end... God, please forgive this guy because he doesn't even know what he's talking of...
  20. busy day in Changwon... women's Individual Air Pistol Gold: Zorana Arunovic Silver: Yu Ai Wen Bronze: Veronika Major Full Results page: https://www.issf-sports.org/competitions/venue/csevent.ashx?cseventid=16624 men's Individual Air Pistol Gold: Damir Mikec Silver: Luca Tesconi Bronze: Paolo Monna Full Results page: https://www.issf-sports.org/competitions/venue/csevent.ashx?cseventid=16625 women's Individual Trap Gold: Wu Cuicui Silver: Penny Smith Bronze: Lucy Charlotte Hall Full Results page: https://www.issf-sports.org/competitions/venue/csevent.ashx?cseventid=16630 men's Individual Trap Gold: Qi Ying Silver: Lorenzo Ferrari Bronze: Daniele Resca Full Results page: https://www.issf-sports.org/competitions/venue/csevent.ashx?cseventid=16631
  21. time for a new stage of the 2022 world cup this time it's in South Korea, in Changwon (host of the 2018 worlds) first events to be completed, as usual, some of the air weapons...in this case, it's the men and women's rifle... women's Individual Air Rifle Gold: Lucie Brazdova Silver: Roxana Sidi Bronze: Eszter Meszaros Full Results page: https://www.issf-sports.org/competitions/venue/csevent.ashx?cseventid=16618 men's Individual Air Rifle Gold: Arjun Babuta Silver: Lucas Kozeniesky Bronze: Sergey Richter Full Results page: https://www.issf-sports.org/competitions/venue/csevent.ashx?cseventid=16617
  22. I don't know about other places, but I can tell you that our TV (their play-by-play commentator, at least) is still selling that story each and every time Mollaei is on the mat... one day I'm sending them a message to stop this narrative, as it's become irritating (it would be even if the story was more than true, which we know it isn't)...
  23. WTF!!! that's not a balk... MLB umpys are digging deep this year with absurd calls... and they threaten a perennial strike if the league start to use the robo-calls for strikes and balls... c'mon, man! they just can't go on like that...
  24. Pudar is swimming too many events in a short while...she was in Budapest, than the Mediterranean Games and now the Junior Europeans in 3 weeks time... and I'm sure she'll be in Rome at the senior Europeans in a month... they're just killing her talent with that schedule...
  25. it's the whole women's Turkish team...let's say that many people are still asking themselves why an Italian coach has to go working in a remote village in Turkey and he's not considered an option by any Italian team anymore (despite the medals he's winning with those girls)...
