  1. well, he already played for Italy in 2017, so it's only a question of him being available at the right time... Rizzo played for Italy in 2013, but then he declined in 2017...so, it's not that obvious he's going to play the next WBC...

  4. no. 3 seed Andrea Santarelli out in the first round of the men's Epee against the unknown John Rodriguez...
  5. I'd have liked more if they were at early/mid August (starting on July 28th -my birthday - would have been perfect), but it's still a good period also late in July...
  6. and yesterday Italy lost to Israel (83-82 after OT)... not a big problem, as all the teams go through to the knockout stage, but still... now we're going to face Croatia in the round of 16...
  7. I'm really curious to see who Mike Piazza is capable of recruiting for Italy... so far, the only player announced is Trey Mancini (he should be the captain of the team), but of course I hope he can get many more MLB players... my wish list include for sure Anthony Rizzo and Jordan Romano (who played for Italy already in the past), but also guys like Tony Gonsolin and other players of Italian heritage... unfortunately, playing the early stages in Far East doesn't help our cause...
  8. maybe, but if they were consistent all day with a certain call, they just can't do the opposite on the last one of the day... I mean, Curatoli was called the same way (first attack no, the counter hits) at least 3 times against Teodosiu (last hit included)...and also Samele's last hit against Pianfetti was exactly the same... p.s. and I'm not sure they were always wrong... p.p.s. consistency is the main rule about refereeing...in any sport...if man is not consistent, then it's all open for manipulation and injustice...
  9. Women's Individual Epee Gold: Song Se Ra Silver: Alexandra Ndolo Bronze: Rossella Fiamingo & Vivian Kong Man Wai Semifinals Ndolo b. Fiamingo 15-10 Song b. Kong 14-9 Final Song b. Ndolo 11-10 Full Ranking & Results https://fie.org/competitions/2022/241?tab=results
  10. Men's Individual Sabre Gold: Aron Szilagyi Silver: Maxime Pianfetti Bronze: Sandro Bazadze & Iulian Teodosiu Semifinals Szilagyi b. Bazadze 15-11 Pianfetti b. Teodosiu 15-11 Final Szilagyi b. Pianfetti 15-14 Full Ranking & Results https://fie.org/competitions/2022/246?tab=results
  11. tbh, he was gifted the world title...the last hit was judged the opposite of what all the refs did all day long (included a couple of hits in the same final a bit earlier)... on the other hand, an Italian ref was not going to call the match for a French guy for any reason...
  12. my mistake...many federations just gave up on this tournament and therefore this year we only have Division A and B (with 19 teams), so, no...you can't dig deeper than this in 2022 (but it used to be also a Division C in the past)... by the way, the 1st match against Serbia was a -49 points defeat... but you have still 2 games left against Switzerland and Finland...maybe there's a chance to pull out a miracle...
  13. so, finally we know the semifinalists (medallists) from today's events... in the women's Epee, it's Alexandra Ndolo vs Rossella Fiamingo and Vivian Kong Man Wai vs Song Se Ra in the men's Sabre, it's Maxime Pianfetti vs Iulian Teodosiu and Aron Szilagyi vs Sandro Bazadze I just can't believe Teodosiu made it through to the medals... his dirty and provoking attitude this time did pay off big time (he's lucky I'm not a ref...he would easily end up with a black card)...
  14. eh, I noticed that a bit later... I was so happy that there was a working streaming that I spoke/wrote too early...
  15. in Italy there was no coverage at all, only the olympic channels unreliable feeds... if it wasn't for the usual website (OA Sport) who covers also the ant's races, no other media of any kind had a single reference to these Games...
  16. no, I think he's saying that the athletes deserve better events, better organization, something that's worth the effort of training all of their life and not such a...well, I don't know even how to say...depressing environment, maybe?
  17. just think that you're playing in the B division, the same where Serbia also play... so, don't be too harsh with your guys...there are 2 more division (and the pre-qualifying rounds) to dig deeper...
  18. no.1 seed Kim Jung Hwan and no.7 seed Gu Bon Gil are out in round 2 of the men's sabre... they lost respectively against youngsters Maxime Pianfetti and Pietro Torre... also no.10 seed Daryl Homer is already out after losing to almost unknown Fares Arfa... meanwhile, in the women's Epee everything is going according to plan, no.8 seed Alberta Santuccio is the only woman among the top 8 to lose in the first/second round... another prominent name to go out early is Nathalie Moellhausen, but she's not the fencer she used to be before the pandemic break and she wasn't seeded high this time...
  19. women's Individual Skeet Gold: Lucie Anastassiou Silver: Amber Hill Bronze: Chiara Di Marziantonio Full Results page: https://www.issf-sports.org/competitions/venue/csevent.ashx?cseventid=16695 men's Individual Skeet Gold: Mairaj Ahmad Khan Silver: Kim Min Su Bronze: Ben Llewellyn Full Results page: https://www.issf-sports.org/competitions/venue/csevent.ashx?cseventid=16696
  20. fixed... just lost myself a bit among all these flags...
  21. luckily, the streaming is working well so far... but the commentated feed only starts with the round of 32...otherwise, too much work for our friends...
  22. Khalil Thompson hit Luca Curatoli's hand with his sabre in their 1st round match of the men's sabre... scary and painful, but no big damage in the end... the match could continue after a quick break and Curatoli won...
  23. round 1 of the women's Epee with no real surprises, the only high seeded fencer to leave the competition is Katherine Holmes, but she lost against Lee Hye In, not the easiest opponent you could get in the opening match...
  24. men's Individual 25m Rapid Fire Pistol Gold: Dai Yoshioka Silver: Jean Quiquampoix Bronze: Lee Jaek Yoon Full Results page: https://www.issf-sports.org/competitions/venue/csevent.ashx?cseventid=16694
