France on a whole other level today 

Karlos Nasar gave a press-conference before the Euro. Here are some of the highlights.
 
- He is fully healed now, after the big injury last year. He is hopeful to not have anymore problems before Paris;
- The Doha Grand Prix in December was a great testing ground and the 223 kg CJ World Record reassured him, that everything is ok. He mentioned, that he has lifted 233 in training, but joked, that he hopes it won't come to that for a gold medal. 
 
- He has received numerous offers from other countries. There was speculation, that he would go to Bahrein after the Olympics. Karlos firmly said he is rejecting all such offers and has no intention of switching. Bahrein had indeed made a strong proposition to his coach and said they are trying to make a "dream team".
 
- If weightlifting remains an Olympic sport, he sees another 2-3 OG in him after Paris.
 
- All the constant scandals with the national coach, the Federation, the different clubs has a negative impact on the team. It's getting tiresome to be surrounded by problems and not train normally. The National team is being split in two with some remaining with the still (disgraced) coach Ivan Ivanov, while Karlos and others train with his and other coaches elsewhere. He has no or wants to have any communication with Ivanov until the courts rule on the corruption case. For him the guy should leave as he has brought so much scandals over the years.

Oh please, don't act as offended. Per capita data is useless, only total number of emissions are what matter in the big picture. Everyone knows what the air looks like in India. It's like night and day if you compare it to Bulgaria, or Europe as a whole.
 
Sure, taking measures for 2 billion people is a very hard task, but i haven't seen any instances or talks of the Indian Government trying to tackle the carbon footprint and the huge number of emissions going to the atmosphere. 
 
And yes China should have never gotten the 2022 Olympics, i have made that opinion years ago. 2008 is a different story as climate change wasn't as evident, or known to the general population then, let alone the time they were awarded the Games. And even then, there were huge debates on the air situation in Beijing and the health of the athletes.
 
I actually like India, in contrast to what you may believe. But i don't think, as a country you are ready to host the Olympics currently. If there is a plan for the next 10 years to change the course and make steps for a more clean future, then 2040-44 is a great opportunity.
 
 

There have never been 3 straight non-European Olympics, Summer or Winter, in history. India could wait to 2040, or 2044, if a viable African bid appears for 40.
 
Hungary 2036 is a superb idea and if the athletics (and swimming )Worlds were test events, Hungarians passed it with flying colours. 
 
Poland on the other hand, though also interesting on paper as a country, if the total catastrophy of the European Games is an indication, then better not.
 
India can host when they start less polluting the planet in my opinion.

A round every 2 seasons is perfectly possible (same with Bansko btw ). If  Croatia can manage to get rounds every damn season, for many years after the Kostelic siblings were out of the picture, then Slovakia should definitely get more chances, than the "fill the calendar spot every 4 years, when there is no big Championship" routine. Especially when Vlhova is one if the biggest names on the women's tour.

I'm sure many Slovak fans were not happy at all with arch-rival Shiffrin winning in front of their eyes, while Petra is in the hospital. But big applause for the great attendance and atmosphere in spite of what happened yesterday. They could definitely find a more regular spot on the calendar.

Ledecka winning to the surprise of no one.  Too bad Hoffmeister made a mistake in the final as everyone wanted to see a full showdown between the two. 

Nice to see Ester Ledecka honoring Bulgaria with her rare return to snowboard these days.  Rado Yankov with a 4th place in the Q will give him a nice position to attack a podium. 

Bronze for Slovakia and 4th for Bulgaria had me questioning the quality of this competition. Then i went to see the results and people having 5-6-7-8 misses on the ranges explains it all.
