    Hopefully Lavreysen will recover soon, maybe he will participate in the keirin this weekend. Good win for Australia. Way better than the other teams. I think in normal circumstances the Dutch team could have ride a 42.27. Not easily, but possible. So we have a very exciting Olympic Games in teamsprint to come.

    According to the start list, Lavreysen was on the team. On the detailed result page it turns out Lavreysen was replaced by Kool. But still a bummer for the Dutch team. Even with Kool in the team, they really could have finish a 0.75 faster at least. According to Dutch media the last days the Dutch team really wanted to show Asutralia that they are still the number one. Therefore I don't understand that Lavreysen was replaced just before the start. Well, let's see how fast the Australians can go. I predict 41.5/41.6 or so.

    Well, I expected a defeat for the Dutch sprinters, but not that gap to Australia and a 9th place. Even no qualification for the second round. Lavreysen slower than Richardson and Hoogland way slower than Glaetzer.

    Hopefully the Dutch bullet train will continue their winning streak in the men's teamsprint. But I'm afraid that Australia has now really become better than The Netherlands. The winner of this World Cup has a big mental advantage towards Paris.

    Does anyone know where you can find an overview of the extensive Olympic rankings? And where you can see how a team's points total is structured. You could follow this at other Olympic Games via various sites, but this year I can't find anything about it. Good job from Boermans and De Groot. In beachvolleyball they are the biggest medal hope for The Netherlands in Paris. If they make Paris, they only played 8 tournaments and Boermans is injured every now and then.

    Disappointment for Jessica Schilder. Last week she threw 20.31 WL/SB, today 5 of her 6 attempts landed outside the section.

    Dutch men's teamsprint track cycling definitely not a lock in. What about the strong team of Australia? In the individual sprint I see two favorites: Matthew Richardson and Harrie Lavreysen.

    What about reigning Olympic champion Nina Derwael? She will qualify for the Games through the World Cups and will be a gold medal contender for me as well.

    Well, I was really surprised how weak the Dutch were yesterday. Ofcourse, Spain is by far the best team in the world right now, but the level of our team was really shocking, especially from some elder players like Lieke Martens. I didn't see the match between France and Germany, so no idea of the level of Germany, but when the Dutch don't raise their level, I think Germany will win this.

    WORLD RECORD again for Femke Bol - 49.24 Lieke Klaver (50.10) and Cathelijn Peeters (52.08) with very good times as well. We are searching a fourth athlete to complete our relayteam.

    qualified a men's 4x100 medley relayteam in today's prelims. Last time we entered this event at the Games was London 2012. Now finally we have a decent backstroke swimmer, Kai van Westering. Together with Caspar Corbeau/Arno Kamminga (breast), Nyls Korstanje (fly) and Stan Pijnenburg (free) a very nice team.

    Or if the Dutch national team has a good coach. In the women's teamsprint competition The Netherlands' performance was really bad due to a mistake by our coach. The Dutch men on the other hand performed well. Congrats to Canada to win the men's teamsprint as well by 0.002

    A horrible performance from against . Eventually we won with 16-14, but the Dutch played very bad. Next up: in the quarterfinals. Hungary plays for an Olympic ticket, for The Netherlands there is nothing at stake. When the Dutch level doesn't increase, we can congratulate Hungary in advance.

    Why so sure? Two weeks ago Netherlands beat Hungary by only 1 goal. Matches between and are always very close. Besides that Netherlands won the trophy they wanted in Eindhoven, this WCh is just an extra for them.

    Unfortunately a 10-8 defeat against USA for our girls. USA was better on all fronts. Hopefully our girls can raise their level against and , after which they can impress again in the intermediate round against or .

    Wow Sharon van Rouwendaal does it again! By far the most underrated athlete in the Netherlands, but such a nice person. After all her Olympic medals (gold in Rio, silver in Tokyo), World titles and European titles, this title is once again more than deserved.

    Big and very interesting battle for the Dutch Olympic ticket between Luc van Opzeeland (currently 1st) and Kiran Badloe (currently 4th). Badloe is the reigning Olympic champion in the RS:X and is now fighting for his last chance to qualify for Paris/Marseille.

    Unfortunately I had to decide not to go. I didn't have the chance to buy the tickets I wanted, so I'll lie on the couch for the entire two weeks ... I have set my sights on Milano 2026 or LA 2028!

    Don't worry for your women's volleyball team, they will qualify in the end. Dutch volleyball women are masters in screwing up qualifications for the Games. Besides that, Canada simply has a better team with a few exceptional players, while the Dutch team no longer has any real stars like Sloetjes, De Kruijff or Flier. Speaking of The Netherlands, already 142 quota! Depends on handball, football and volleyball women if we exceed the number of 200 athletes.
