If you recall, someone had quoted team official and told about India's decision to replace Rahul with Mangal on Monday evening itself. Also, Mangal had participated in the normal team event as well. So, once again nothing to do with today's condition.

In qualification, gap between Mangal and Rahul was 5 shots and Mangal had shot much better in 2nd series compared to 1st. So, maybe team thought that Mangal will bounce back. Also, its not like Rahul had a spectacular performance in qualification or Individual events.

    Guys, chill !!!

Paes/Bopanna will go and Sania/Bopanna will go. The current storm created by Bopanna is just to ensure he gets Sania in mixed. He wants an assurance that Paes cant later re-open the XD debate after Wimbledon.

The MD entry has to be submitted within the next few days whereas the XD entry can be changed uptil about Aug 9. So, Bopanna doesnt want a situation where he agrees to play with Paes now and once MD entry is confirmed and he cant do anyhting, Paes turns around and starts shouting that he should be going in XD as well.

In effect, Bopanna is doing pretty much exactly what Leander did in 2012. In London, Paes used his top-10 ranking to essentially say - OK, I'll play with Vishnu and let Bopanna/Bhupathi play together provided Sania is mine. Rohan is now doing the same thing - using his top-10 ranking to say that I'll play with Paes provided Sania is mine.

Is is sad?? Of course...but the floodgates were opened in 2012 and they aren't closing now. All 3 players - Paes, Bhupathi, Bopanna - have all, in both London and Rio, just taken a stance which benefits THEM the most, given the power they held based on rankings. Nobody here is a saint !!!

And have to say, am sad to see the vitriol directed towards Bopanna on this forum by some commenters. Yes, he is not Paes. Yes, he is not an 18-time grand slam champion. But he is a good player, top-10 in the world at the moment, grand slam and year-end championships finalist. He deserves our respect. Just because a Sachin Tendulkar exists, doesn't mean a Ravindra Jadeja doesn't deserve respect.

There is no danger of Mirza dropping out of top 10, so we are assured of a pair in WD.

For doubles, NOC can choose any two players as a pair. Combined ranking of the pair is equal to sum of their individual rankings (better ranking between MS and MD is used for each individual). Pairs win quota based on this combined ranking.

There is no chance for second pair in MD as apart from Bopanna no one is ranked high enough. Bopanna/Paes might also be on edge of qualification if both of them dont do well in French Open.

If Bopanna manages to reach top 10, he can chose Bhupathi instead of Paes but IMHO it would be a case of cutting one's nose to spite the face.

Also, its next to impossible to find any reliable simulation rankings for doubles as there are just too many combinations

UWW confirmed Adjustments to Olympic Qualifiers Announced (Doping issues)

United World Wrestling has redistributed Olympic qualifications for freestyle, Greco-Roman and women’s wrestling. The changes come in response to recent doping violations for small concentrations of Meldonium at the European Olympic Qualification Tournament in Serbia and the Asian Olympic Qualification Tournament in Kazakhstan.

According to UWW’s Anti-Doping Rules and the last instruction issued by WADA, the competitive results of the athletes sanctioned for doping violations will be wiped from their respective tournaments. Per the rules of the international federation, Olympic licenses will be redistributed based on the following circumstances:

    Men's Freestyle 65 kg

Due to doping violations at the European Olympic Games Qualifier Magomedmurad GADZHIEV (POL) and Andriy KVYATKOVSKYY (UKR) have had their results at 65kg wiped and associated Olympic licenses revoked. The licenses were transferred to Georgia (via Zurabi IAKOBISHVILI) and Armenia (via Devid SAFARYAN).

Following this adjustment, Bulgaria (via Boris NOVACHKOV) earns the Olympic license won by Georgia at the 1st World OG Qualifier in Mongolia.

As Bulgaria takes their license from the 1st World OG Qualifier, their first-place finish at the 2nd World OG Qualifier will be transferred to the United States who finished in third place (via Frank MOLINARO).

The qualified countries at 65kg (for Zrenjanin, Ulaanbaatar and Istanbul) are then: Georgia (GEO), Armenia (ARM), Bahrain (BRN), Turkey (TUR), Bulgaria (BUL), Canada (CAN) and The United States of America (USA).

    Men's Freestyle 125kg

At 125kg, Allen ZASIEIEV (UKR) and Yusup JALILAU (BLR) also had their results wiped and Olympic licenses revoked for positive doping results at the European OG Qualifier.  Their licenses were transferred to Bulgaria (via Lyuben ILIEV) and Hungary (via Daniel LIGETI).

Hungary placed at the 1st World OG Qualifier, and Bulgaria’s qualifying spot would have been the replacement but (as stated above) was earned in Serbia, giving the spot to Kyrgyzstan (via Aiaal LAZAREV).

The qualified countries at 125kg (for Zrenjanin, Ulaanbaatar and Istanbul) are then: Bulgaria (BUL), Hungary (HUN), China (CHN), Poland (POL), Kyrgyzstan (KGZ), Ukraine (UKR) and Belarus (BLR).

    Greco-Roman 85kg
In Greco-Roman a positive doping result for Zhanarbek KENZHEEV (KGZ) at the Asian Olympic Qualifier shifted an 85kg Olympic license from Kyrgyzstan to India (via Ravinder KHATRI).

    Women's Freestyle 53 kg
In women’s wrestling a positive doping result for Sumiya ERDENECHIMEG (MGL) at the Asian Olympic Qualifier shifted a 53kg Olympic license from Mongolia to India (via Kumari BABITA).

    Women's Freestyle 53 kg
At 58kg a positive doping result for Oksana HERHEL (UKR) shifted the Ukrainian Olympic license to Moldova (via Mariana CHERDIVARA ESANU).

here is updated list of all Olympic qualification spots

More likely they may be in intensive training for Rio so as to peak there and do not want any break.......  there is not much chance after the reason level of form shown by the womens recurve team that they may change any member ( but yes if injury or any thing happens good to have a back up
