  1. Whitmore takes out Chinese with a camera.
  2. It's time for Croatia to enter a song. This time we will be represented by Antonela Doko and her song "Onaj Dan". Although she comes from my hometown Rijeka, the video of this song is quite fittingly set on the streets of London. Hope you'll like it. Croatia Antonela Doko - Onaj Dan ("That Day")
  3. Over at the Gothenburg driving finals, Boyd Exell came through to win his 7th title.
  4. Crazy WC in Gothenburg with von Eckermann taking a win at home. However, the most intriguing part was the battle for the final places at the WC final in Omaha! 18 riders that will represent Western Europe are... Kevin Staut - 78 Lorenzo de Luca - 67 Denis Lynch - 64 Henrik von Eckermann - 59 Ludger Beerbaum - 56 Steve Guerdat - 47 Guido Klatte - 47 Gregory Wathelet - 45 Leopold van Asten - 44 Simon Delestre - 44 Romain Duguet - 43 Carlos Lopez - 43 - extra athlete Holger Wulschner - 42 Marcus Ehning - 41 Max Kuhner - 41 Sergio Alverez Moya - 40 Nicola Philippaerts - 39 Olivier Robert - 39 Markus Brinkmann - 39 ---------------------------------------- (reserves) Maikel van der Vleuten - 38 Martin Fuchs - 38 Scott Brash - 35 Pieter Devos - 35 Carlos Lopez is competing for Colombia, which is obviously not in Western Europe. However, since he ranked within the top 18 he gets to go as an extra athlete. I'm not sure if Steve Guerdat is prequalified as the defending champion. If he is indeed prequalified then Maikel van der Vleuten will be invited too. Some really big names failed to qualify, including current World No. 1 Daniel Deusser. Another big German Christian Ahlmann is missing too. Scott Brash once again fails, for the third time in a row... On the other had, some very interesting names are in. Including Guido Klatte, Carlos Lopez, Markus Brinkmann and Olivier Robert. Who would think that Leopold van Asten will be the only Dutch in the final (for now). Holger Wulschner meanwhile qualified for his first WC final since 1997!
  5. Awesome! I'm intrigued by that very unknown Estonian.
  6. Don't get why IBSF refuses to use thousands of the seconds like in luge. Ties are by no means rare in bobsleigh and skeleton.
  7. Well, it's not like he is the only athlete who never claimed gold. Actually, he did win gold eventually so boo-hoo. Look at your own Ellen Bontje for example. Not to mention all those people with zillion 4th and 5th places, they are the real "sad stories"
  8. Finland Meh, these Nordic Worlds are so overrated anyways..
  9. I'm afraid this has another "Hannu Manninen near miss" written all over it.
  10. So this is basically a training for Germans. The only difference being is that for this training run they get a gold medal.
  11. Awful tactics by Finish coach. Putting the weakest skier first.
  12. Is there a bet about Germany winning by more than 2 minutes?
  13. I think it's possible that you care more about that gold than Kircheisen himself.
  14. 17th place for Leona today. That's ok, but it would have been 14th if she was just 0.25 faster... Anyway, she'll have excellent starting numbers for the next season. Win for Mikaela Shiffrin. 3 gold medals in Pyeongchang?
  15. Well, hoping that Kircheisen wins a gold today is like hoping that Martin Fourcade wins the overall WC. Chance of not happening 0.01%
  16. Nah, Jauhojaervi wasn't one to blame for Tschranke's fall.
  17. Ok, so Finland has to win a medal in this after disasters in team sprints. Only 30 seconds outside of silver after jumping. And they do have Manninen and Herola in the team, excellent skiers. Hirvonen and Mutru are very good too.
  18. Finland However, I never liked this event. It's too weird and too unnecessary.
  19. Not even in top 30 in Ottepa last week, and now destroys Sweden and Finland. Nice fairytale.
  20. Skiers born in 2001 are not even allowed to enter a FIS race yet. As you can see on the FIS points list.
  21. From where on Earth Belorukova came?
  22. Young athletes knocking on the door? When did you see a 16 year old downhiller anywhere near the WC level? It will be at least 5 more years until athletes born in 2001/02 start knocking on the door.
