Qualification Tracker

  1. Bree Schaaf is back.
  2. Athletics qualification ALWAYS ends up with more athletes than there should have been. It's kind of sad that some Twitter expert doesn't know about that.

  4. Oceania Championships will be live streamed. Day 1 Day 2
  5. Nope. YOG doesn't get broadcasted even in dreams.
  6. I'm afraid that narrative got hidden behind the short track story, which was all over Olympic channel and social media.
  7. So I had the weirdest dream. Apparently Olympic short track competition turned into a total carnage. It ended up with Moldova taking surprise gold, Lesotho silver and Monaco bronze. Additionally, we all cheered for @Olympian1010 who took a bronze medal as part of American nordic combined relay.
  8. To be fair, it's the athletes that miss out too, not just the spectators... I remember reading how a number of equestrian athletes felt left out during 2008 Olympics (even if there was a small cauldron in Hong Kong).
  9. I wonder if that particular venue had any real snowfall in the last 100 years.
  10. How often do you see announcements like: "X venue will host Y sport. Next step - IOC approval". Even they are unsure about this.
  11. Looks like Nicole Smith failed to get invited for Frankfurt Festhallen CDI5*... This means that South Africa now solely relies on Laurienne Dittmann, who is scheduled to compete at Mechelen World Cup after Christmas.
  12. Yes, they can (and really should). But I kind of doubt they will.
  13. German Open (2) Qatar Open (2) Japan Open (1) World Rankings (1) - reallocation of host quota
  14. Except there are 4 (!) more ways for them to qualify. This tournament was basically designed for the giants...
  15. No sound for breaking bulbs?
  16. 98% of Bougainvilleans said YES to independence.

  18. Actually, I believe this time they explicitly said that there will be no "Russia" in the name.
  19. No, it's Issoufou.
  20. FEI confirms that Russians will be allowed to compete as neutrals, and that no quotas will be rescinded (as long as there are clean eligible athletes).
  21. What do you want? This will be the first Olympic track with Kreisel since 1988!
  22. That's interesting. I pretty much just checked China and assumed that everyone else must be in. This could be troublesome for Ukraine in particular. But I guess there is always an option of getting MER through 5.1 procedure... Incidentally, Czech Republic and Morocco stand to profit from this.
  23. Only Grand Prix counts, and only if the event is included in the List of MER events. FEI also has athletes with MER listed here (only for jumping).
