  1. It's too late now (for the group stage at least), but maybe the jurors could have been asked to provide a short comment on why they picked certain song as the winner for each match. These comments would have been optional, and would have been revealed together with their votes. Jurors' names would still be kept secret.
  2. Sissy Theurer and Niki Lauda in 1980. Lauda personally flew Theurer's horse to Moscow, following the decision from the Austrian federation to support boycott. Theurer and Mon Cherie went on to take the gold medal.
  3. Misha's father, Viktor Chizhikov, passed away yesterday. Almost exactly 40 years to the day of the Moscow 1980 Opening Ceremony.
  4. It looked kind of weird on my phone (as it can on Totallympics), but on desktop it looks swell.
  5. Unfortunately, this would make it possible for someone to accidentally see the final outcome before any of the individual votes (while scrolling through pages).
  6. Athletes in particular. A lot of them stand to lose their once in a lifetime chance to become Olympians. Most of all those who achieved a fluke qualification - Zambian women's football team comes to mind.
  7. It looks good. Maybe only something along these lines could be added beyond the first spoiler, as an introduction for each match-up? However it would take time to design something more proper looking than this, so it's fine either way. K E H UZBEKISTAN vs NAMIBIA A C F B M
  8. I wonder if anyone else gets these weird 'T's (when bolded)?
  9. Margaret McIver (dressage, 1984). https://www.eurodressage.com/2020/07/21/margaret-mciver-passed-away Incidentally, she coached Usman Khan, who is supposed to become the first ever Pakistani Olympic equestrian next year.
  10. One last thing. Since we are going with a sports theme, how about using dressage arena lettering to denote various judges? It would be as follows: Judge K Judge E Judge H Judge C Judge M Judge B Judge F Judge A (does not exist in practice, but would be a logical continuation) This could make for a smart design too ( @OlympicIRL would design it better I'm sure ). K E H Antarctica v. Greenland A C F B M 7 spoilers later... Would have to be changed once the number of judges per match increases (following the group stage).
  11. Ok, can we at least then have all group fixtures available in one place where they would be updated on a daily basis? In the opening post for example? While I can get the idea of users wanting some suspense, I do believe there should be a place where everyone can easily get full overview of the results, without having to scroll through pages and pages of posts just to compare standings between various grops etc.
  12. To be fair, it's something we are very much used to as sports fans. Opening up a link and having the suspense resolved all at once. Tbh waiting for a link to open / page to refresh is already like waiting for a spoiler to open. But alright.
  13. Regular TISC editions have like 150 result posts, counting all voting templates and scoreboards. 480 result posts for a group stage would be bizzare given that this edition is supposed to be more casual.
  14. Couldn't we just get half-time and full-time results for each match? If not, I still feel like getting results instantly would be better than having to open all those spoilers.
  15. Wouldn't such approach make this thread incredibly cluttered? 8 posts for each match would create 480 (!) posts for the group stage alone. I honestly thought we would have a daily reveal of results and that would be it.
  16. To be fair, we do get a lot of new users when the Olympic fever strikes. Now, whether or not they are here to stay, that's a different question.
  17. And i guess Totallympics would have been exploding with new users/posts at this point.
  18. Breaking news! @heywoodu has summoned a special press conference in regards to the recent Heywoodgate allegations. It is unclear why nobody seems to be wearing a mask.
