Believe it or not, South Africa is still not mathematically qualified for the Round of 16. Even with 9 points already on their tally, there is still a slight possibility of them placing 3rd in their group + 3rd placed nations from Groups A/C finishing on 9 pts and having better vote difference.

Not gonna sugarcoat it. I feel like screaming upon seeing how some of these groups are developing.

Well, it's also very different than other sports. Unlike athletics and swimming where athletes pretty much do one motion their entire career, top level gymnasts are constantly asked to learn new movements / upgrade difficulty. Especially during their formative years. -
Yeah, but officiating just 1-2 matches for the whole Round of 16 seems way too little. Should be at least 3 for each judge (meaning 11 jurors per match).

Probably somthing like 15. With 7 some jurors would only be drawn for one R16 bout.

Nope. They even had ceremonial discontinuation of men's C2 slalom after it got removed.

Nevertheless, ICF is on the brink of bankrupcy (following the Tokyo postponement) and their events are literally disappearing as soon as they get removed from the Olympic program. Clearly a sign that they are way to dependent on the Olympics...
