  1. I think this is for countdown thread, not for news thread.
  2. Withdrawals are just coming, Donna Vekić might get in too.
  3. My guess is that they don't care about Olympics, and when their Olympic Committees ask for confirmation they say: "What? No, count me out."
  4. Both Russia and Switzerland have replaced one of the doubles players this week.
  5. Fiji teams Men's Osea Kolinisau (C), Apisai Domolailai, Jasa Veremalua, Josua Tuisova, Kitione Taliga, Leone Nakarawa, Samisoni Viriviri, Savenaca Rawaca, Semi Kunatani, Vatemo Ravouvou, Viliame Mata, Jerry Tuwai. Travelling Reserve: Masivesi Dakuwaqa Women's Ana Roqica (C), Asenaca, Lavenia Tinai, Litia Naiqato, Luisa Tisolo, Merewai Drumu, Raijeli Daveua, Rebbeca Tavo, Rusila Nagasau, Timaimai Ravisa, Timaimai Tamoi, Viniana Raiwai. Travelling reserve: Joana Sauto
  6. Yes, looks like Germany used athletes from other boats to make men's K4. This means that they won't count for reallocation. Italy and Brazil will get BLR/ROU quotas in K4 I think.
  7. I know that she also has OST in 400m medley, not sure for 200m medley. But I don't think she will consider medley for Rio.
  8. FINA will publish the list next week, I don't know if there is still chance for Radić or not. Samardžić most likely in 100m and 200m back. Anyway, she entered those two at the Europeans.
  9. So their job is to watch athletes when they pee? Wow, I wonder what's their paycheck.
  10. She was excellent in dressage, but quite bad in jumping yesterday and XC today. Although Aachen XC course is one of the hard ones, I don't see her having a chance to get selected now. German team will probably be Jung, Klimke, Auffarth and Andreas Ostholt.
  11. To be honest, I don't think I have ever heard about chaperone.
  12. Sierra Leone will apparently have two swimmers (first Sierra Leone Olympic swimmers since 1996). Their female swimmer needed 54 seconds to swim 50m free in Kazan last year. But, she has allegedly improved since then and now she can do it in 40s. http://awoko.org/2016/07/14/sierra-leone-sports-salone-swimmers-ready-for-rio-games/
  13. Let me guess, this is not final decision because Romania and Belarus can still overturn it via CAS? I guess it was so hard to make such decision before...
  14. Cameroon confirmed their team of 24 athletes. Looks like no interest in universality places, as they don't have swimmers and male representative in athletics. http://lcclc.info/index.php/2016/07/12/cameroon-rio-2016-meet-team-cameroon-for-the-2016-olympic-games/
  15. Interesting that Gabby Douglas is the first female Olympic all-around champion to return for the following Games since Nadia Comaneci did so in 1980.
  16. Ok, so Ana is surely in (provided she accepts it).
  17. British eventing team member Izzy Taylor had to withdraw after her horse got injured. Two-time Olympian Pippa Funnell is the replacement with Billy The Biz.
  18. Great, I was looking to watch matches of Costa Rica team (in London I followed Mauritius team ), but they got a match early on day 1... I already have nightmares about that first day of the Games, when there are so many things to watch and I can't decide what to follow (I can be quite indecisive).
  19. Any ideas about her replacement? I think Ana Konjuh might actually get it.
  20. I checked the Facebook page of NZ wrestling and there are no updates. You'd think they would go crazy if Miller was in.
  21. Lol. Well, some people already said that NZ standards are hypocritical. This confirms that.
  22. Well, seems likely to me that NZ will decline. They declined a female fencer who actually scored some wins.
  23. I guess Namibia (2nd bronze medalist) should be next in line if NZ declines.
  24. Puerto Rico will have 42 athletes http://www.copur.pr/Federaciones/mi-clasificacion-fue-diferente-pero-me-la-gane-alysbeth-felix/ Virgin Islands confirmed their 7 athletes http://www.virginislandsolympics.org/virgin-islands-olympic-committee-vioc-announces-rio-olympic-team/
