Womens Vault - The fast improving Dipa Kramakar came 5th at the world championship , she has been getting a lot of support and will improve further , a medal prospect in gymnastics 20. Womens Badminton - PV sindhu - two times world championship bronze medallist is definately a prospect

Yes my back of the envelope calculations also showed that they should beat BEL and ARG ...............But maybe the official table would be released soon .... I am surprised they take so long to release the new table

I am 100% sure of it ....in fact few of the countries ( GER for example ) had to drop a second shooter to accommodate a cross qualification because they could not exchange a second quota place

As per the ISSF rules the Indian NRAI can only exchange one quota ........ we have already done it ....there is no more possible change we can do now, so no possible change in any more players , let us cheer the players who are going we have no choice now

@suneet There are two seperate issues facing IWF - first is reduction of quota places - This is based I think on the removal of one quota places ..................... Second seperate issue if BLR , RUS and KAZ are banned then what action is to be planned - that is still pending

Totally agree Look at the contrast between 4 Indian Olympic medallists....... Sushil and Vijender ( both are heroes of mine mind you ) did not participate in trials or tournaments .............. suddenly seem to have this attitude I have to be at olympics just a few weeks before the olympics , despite someone else slogging to win a quota Lee and Abhinav on the other hand worked seriously over the last year ....abhinav to get selected to the indian team by participating in the trials , then slogged to get into form and win his own quota ...... lee going to challengers for the first time in god knows how many years to bring his ranking up ................ They win their fair quota at the olympics dudes you are not bigger than the sport and you will have competition for your place daily ...........

Unfortunately No ................. Mirabai is in the 48 Kg category and her main rivals will come from just 4 countries - CHN ( almost sure gold ) ...... tough fight with vie , tha, prk for the rest of the medals as china is likely to field just one lifter ................. only advantage may be that she may have sanjita for company in the 48 kg and the two are close which would boost her morale

Interesting news ................... due to doping RUS , KAZ and BLR may be banned in weightlifting if that is the case ..................... India may likely get a second quota in womens weightlifting as we are number 3 on the list for two quotas

but the calculations are going to be crazy ...............lets hope for the best ................... if we get quotas then we will need to be removed from the asian qualifers the cascading effect could be really vague ......................... they may simply say the cancelled quotas could again added to the unqualified list to prevent those issues ............

but what if the nation is banned kaz , rus and blr ? What will that mean .................. ? ......they had banned BUL , they lost their place , surely if KAZ , RUS and BLR lose their ranking the whole ranking should be pushed up ?
