  1. Guys besides the row kicked up by Bopanna aspect of tying up with saketh ..................... I was extremely happy with sainas match with Rachanok ...... she was so strong mentally ........ great to see saina back in form .....let us see how she does against wang yihan
  2. Why do you feel Asia is between Africa and Oceania ?........ Is this in tennis in general or only for the tripartite places ?............. Since India currently has a world number 1 in womens doubles ( sania ) and a former world number 1 in mens doubles ( leander )
  3. With Americans sheer power in shotgun that is surprising ' look at some of the names on their team Joshua Richmond, Walton Eller Vincent Hancock, Corey Cogdell Kimberly Rhode

  5. Update from the Australian Open Super series Sameer Loses in 3 sets to Anthony Ginting in a close match ................... Kidambi crushes Kuncoro in 2 sets ...Kidambis mysterious form seems to be returning Tanvi lad loses to Wang Yihan as expected in two sets Sainas match yet to happen On a Non Indian note ...Inthanon seems to be in awesome form and if saina wins she will face Intanon in the quarters ....................
  6. There shall be up to sixteen seeds in singles and four seeds in doubles of the five events in the Olympic Games Badminton competition. The seeds for the 2016 Olympic Games Badminton competition shall be determined using the BWF ranking list of 21 July 2016
  7. the problem with Indian sports right from the start has been that is run by politicians / Industrialists , I want us to break out of this paradigm and give sports administration to good sportsmen / coaches ........... Indian badminton has improved since pullela gopichand / prakash padukone started playing a serious role ....raninder singh who is a serious trap shooter ( this year he won the national championship ) has navigated NRAI very well ... this is why have a serious issue with MRS AMBANI I do not mind if they pledge serious money into olympic sports .....................So if Reliance is going to pledge few hundred crores into olympic sports I will also applaud Nita Ambani but till I hear this announcement
  8. If There is an international business body we will select someone like JRD to represent us If there is a international Film association someone like amitabh bachan If there is an international Atheletics body why must it be Nita Ambani ?????? if I see the list below all the advanced countries select iconic atheletics as members to represent them - Popov for Russia , I remember it was Sebastian coe for UK , it is currently - princess anne ( she represented UK in riding ) .............Erik Hoyer for denmark , Nawal Moutawakil for morroco , Sergie Bubka for Ukraine ...does India have no Iconic atheletes to represent them ..... Why Not Rajyawardhan Rathore who is a minister in the BJP currently. or Viren rasquinha ( head of olympic gold quest ) or Prakash Padukone ..................... Or if they want a very rich person why not at least Naveen Jindal who was the National record holder in skeet https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_members_of_the_International_Olympic_Committee I honestly believe I have issues because sportsmen do not get the importance they deserve for the hard work they put in ...olympic sport is a money less sport ...... I want people who have put in effort to get the value out of it ....... Even in the TOP program babus who do not understand sport are put in charge and hence there is an issue ... I am sure if there was someone like Rathore heading the TOP program we would see action ..that is my problem with someone like NITA To be honest if Reliance pledges a few 100 crores to Indian sport then I do not mind ...... But I fear that this will be just another Tag to flaunt ............but still hoping for the best
  9. NITA AMBANI - HOW DOES IOC SELECT PEOPLE AND SHE WILL REPRESENT INDIAN SPORT ........................I am sorry.......but I am losing respect for IOC .........Sports seems to be dominated by politicians , industrialists etc.... Anyway wish her the best
  10. Saina is recovering from an injury so she is slower ...... fitness has never been her problem ( she is the hardest working player - sometimes the coaches say she overworks herself ) ...................... she always puts in 8 to 9 hrs of practice and that is agravating her injury ,,,,, she needs good physiotherapy and some rest I feel
  11. I agree it is really stupid of him ................ The question in sports is not your feeling but working with the best possible players available to ensure that you can WIN ..... his best chance is obviously Lee ........lee is the best ranked player in mens doubles available , lee is a great heart player , he plays with his heart and this will be his last olympic so he will put in his best ( remember he won a singles medal ranked 70th or so ) ............... Are we saying that purav raja is better than paes ....... bhupathi for all his greatness is now retired and is ranked 160th .... if Bopanna wants to be a tourist - thats his choice ...maybe he can relax on the beach but he has a snowballs chance in hell to win a medal without lee and as a sports fan I will not be respecting him if he chooses any one but lee ....................
  12. Yes hingis for Indian citizenship .................. heck I would make her the honorary president of India too

  15. BCA Indonesian open results Ashiwini / jwala win Sameer Loses ( to Lee Chong Wei ) Manu and sumeeth win we have 3 in the round of 16 - womens doubles , mens doubles and saina ......all have matches tomorrow
  16. Thats interesting .....what are the odds .......
  17. TENNIS QUALIFICATION with Rohan bopanna ( currently 11th ) reaching the quarters his chances of reaching the top 10 brighten ( he has gained 180 points already ) If rohan reaches the semis he will surely overtake Bruno soares ( rank 10th ) If Ivan dodig /Melo pair lose in the next couple of rounds Dodig ( rank 8 ) drops enough points to come behind rohan most of the others who had similar points to Rohan have dropped out ......currently Roger vesslin ( rank 15 ) is still in the race and if he finishes well ahead of rohan he would overtake rohan ............................ so it seem that rohan has a reasonable chance of reaching top 10 and being guaranteed a place in the doubles at rio
  18. ROLAND GARROS girl’s singles event, Karman Kaur Thandi beat Oana Gavrila 6-1, 7-5 in the opening round.
