  1. if this is going to be used for the pairings for the olympic qualifiers then amongst the non qualified nations India -1st Mexico - 2nd germany - 3rd Russia -4th finland - 5th Japan - 6th Kazakh - 7th brazil ( are they competing in the qualifier ? ) - 8th
  2. I think the opening round is over ...... India finish 4th overall and first amongst the olympic qualifier great show by atanu and jayanta ..... not a great first round by rahul ..................... but still that is awesome .
  3. is there any live streaming link for archery
  4. Canada are no rollovers ...they are a good side ( ranked just 2 below India in worldranking ) ...... Indonesia / belarus do not have a great reputation so that may be easier ....In fact out of mexico / Russia ...... Russia may be more difficult to beat........................ The olympic qualifier may be from thurs day I believe ? also atanu finished 2nd amongst individuals
  5. actually I was not questioning the authenticity but I was hoping there was some youtube link for this run as it is a significant NR...................................... In fact when I went to road to rio for men 4*400....and at 3.02.17 if they can achieve it again would place them 13th in the 4*400 list on the average score so that is amazing ..... I am hoping they can have another such run As far as the womens 4*400 it seems really good as we would also add 5 athletes to our quota list .........................................but as my calculations it seems they are 13th not 12th ?....but either way they seem to have put a decent margin in the margin to be at rio
  6. thats awesome news .....is there any live link for this
  7. GREAT JOB by SAINA and good mental prep for her for rio
  8. in which event ...because I could not find the participation in the golden leiden event ...though the earlier start list did show this ...did they not participate ........................ Indian athletes are struggling to reach individual qualification ....maybe relay teams can do well
  9. Yes I think the WS would be a cracker of an event .......................... If I had a preference would prefer Saina not to meet Li xuerui or Marin till the finals ........ In the current performance standards ...... Ratchanok and Marin may be favorites but now sanias recent performances in both the uber cup and australian open have been really good and Tai recent indonesian open was great so both of them would be the next group of possible winners ......................any of the players would hate to run into Sindhu especailly the chinese so she would be a dangerous sleeper as long as she does not come in Sainas group !!!!! I just wish Sindhu Form would jump in the next couple of grand prix but i do not see her participating
  10. Good analysis which came true .......giving you a well deserved reputation for this post
  11. ........................When this is in the first page of our thread it really helps all of us follow all the events .....also thanks @tirtha22 for adding hockey and table tennis events .... we seem to have a huge portfolio of key olympic events ( Boxing , swimming ,athletics, archery etc ) over the next ten days so hoping to see awesome performances ...... already saina is showing why she is a true medal prospect with the way she is performing in the australia open and also a glimmer of hope with kidambi ............................ also can we add gouden spike meet 11 june for athletics @Prashanth for showing the number of participants
  12. especially good as we have some of the seniors like sardar rested
  13. theres time for me still ... ...................... if I can just myself out of this couch
  14. live streaming
  15. Guys besides the row kicked up by Bopanna aspect of tying up with saketh ..................... I was extremely happy with sainas match with Rachanok ...... she was so strong mentally ........ great to see saina back in form .....let us see how she does against wang yihan
  16. Why do you feel Asia is between Africa and Oceania ?........ Is this in tennis in general or only for the tripartite places ?............. Since India currently has a world number 1 in womens doubles ( sania ) and a former world number 1 in mens doubles ( leander )
  17. With Americans sheer power in shotgun that is surprising ' look at some of the names on their team Joshua Richmond, Walton Eller Vincent Hancock, Corey Cogdell Kimberly Rhode

  19. Update from the Australian Open Super series Sameer Loses in 3 sets to Anthony Ginting in a close match ................... Kidambi crushes Kuncoro in 2 sets ...Kidambis mysterious form seems to be returning Tanvi lad loses to Wang Yihan as expected in two sets Sainas match yet to happen On a Non Indian note ...Inthanon seems to be in awesome form and if saina wins she will face Intanon in the quarters ....................
  20. There shall be up to sixteen seeds in singles and four seeds in doubles of the five events in the Olympic Games Badminton competition. The seeds for the 2016 Olympic Games Badminton competition shall be determined using the BWF ranking list of 21 July 2016
  21. Thats great by soumyajit
  22. the problem with Indian sports right from the start has been that is run by politicians / Industrialists , I want us to break out of this paradigm and give sports administration to good sportsmen / coaches ........... Indian badminton has improved since pullela gopichand / prakash padukone started playing a serious role ....raninder singh who is a serious trap shooter ( this year he won the national championship ) has navigated NRAI very well ... this is why have a serious issue with MRS AMBANI I do not mind if they pledge serious money into olympic sports .....................So if Reliance is going to pledge few hundred crores into olympic sports I will also applaud Nita Ambani but till I hear this announcement
  23. If There is an international business body we will select someone like JRD to represent us If there is a international Film association someone like amitabh bachan If there is an international Atheletics body why must it be Nita Ambani ?????? if I see the list below all the advanced countries select iconic atheletics as members to represent them - Popov for Russia , I remember it was Sebastian coe for UK , it is currently - princess anne ( she represented UK in riding ) .............Erik Hoyer for denmark , Nawal Moutawakil for morroco , Sergie Bubka for Ukraine ...does India have no Iconic atheletes to represent them ..... Why Not Rajyawardhan Rathore who is a minister in the BJP currently. or Viren rasquinha ( head of olympic gold quest ) or Prakash Padukone ..................... Or if they want a very rich person why not at least Naveen Jindal who was the National record holder in skeet https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_members_of_the_International_Olympic_Committee I honestly believe I have issues because sportsmen do not get the importance they deserve for the hard work they put in ...olympic sport is a money less sport ...... I want people who have put in effort to get the value out of it ....... Even in the TOP program babus who do not understand sport are put in charge and hence there is an issue ... I am sure if there was someone like Rathore heading the TOP program we would see action ..that is my problem with someone like NITA To be honest if Reliance pledges a few 100 crores to Indian sport then I do not mind ...... But I fear that this will be just another Tag to flaunt ............but still hoping for the best
