In the last few days, two great results for South American athletics, both with the second best marks in the history of South America

Evelis Aguilar from clocked 49.80 in the 400 metres, a mark very close to the continental record held by Olympic medalist and fellow Colombian Ximena Restrepo with 49.64

Manuela Rotundo from , just 20 years old, scored an impressive 64.17 in the javelin throw at a university competition in the USA. This mark would have earned her a silver medal at Paris-2024 (she did not participate).

Uruguay has not won an Olympic medal since Sydney-2000 and the young Rotundo, a world junior medalist, seems like a good name to keep an eye on in the cycle.

Now that the Olympics are over for one week and we are all more or less back to our normal life, it's time for some reviews of our Olympic experience.

I think this has been the only meeting we were able to organize. We created a Whatsapp group with the best intention, but I think all of us had the same issue: lack of time Olympic days should last at least 40 hours to be able to do everything we would like to do. I was in Paris for work and some days I really had long office hours, so I was not as free as some other users who was in Paris.

In general, for me it was a nice experience. I have enjoyed the athmosphere and I think the venues were really amazing. I have also liked the transportation system, it was really easy to move between different venues across the city. Some of the memories of the last month will last a lifetime.

I was able to attend Athletics, Swimming, Tennis, Beach Volleyball, Fencing and 3x3 Basketball. And I was able to meet for dinner @Jan Linha and @Pasolini

For all other users who were in Paris, I am sorry for not being able to meet you. @OlympicIRL @canadafan2024 @vinipereira @RussB @Adriano @Agger @gucardn @Matej @stefanbg.

If you would like to share your memories, comments and pictures, I am sure it would be interesting for me and other users!

ahhh so many, not even sure where to start.

As I'm learning Norwegian, I tend to also cheer for some of Norwegians (will be so happy to see Karsten Warholm running below WR and earning a silver medal behind Alison dos Santos )

Timo Cavelius on judo would be the first name that comes to mind -  and other LGBTQ athletes (but I also tend to support German judokas as well)

I also love athletes from countries that have not yet won medals or gold medals!

We'll be seeing more of this in many sports in the following years. Every amateur sport in  is finished after Paris (no more funding).

    Something sad about Argentina!

With the defeats of Quiroga and López, it will be the first time since Antwerp-1920 that the country will not take anyone in boxing!

Remembering that boxing is the sport that has given them the most medals, with seven golds and 24 in total.

Ok, Argentine success dates back to the 30s/40s, and the last medal in the sport came from Atlanta-96. But it's sad nonetheless! They fell from five classified in Tokyo, some young, to none now! At YOG 2018, which they hosted, they won three medals! Sad for our neighbors!

He had knee surgery in February and it ruined all his preparation and physical condition! There were expectations that he would participate in the Brazilian trials next week, but he announced his withdrawal!
