Ruck looked really good in the first 100m and then faded bad. I just checked the splits and she had the fastest 100m split of anyone.

And it was a pretty significant PB at 1:56:64

It’s faster than 3/4 of the relay times from the 2023 world championship. 

A 1:58.08 for Smith - another potential swimmer for the 4x200m relay.

Bronze for Wilm in a decent time 59.18 i think.

Big PB for Angus to make it to the final.

Blake Tierny misses the semis by two spots but it was a good time and very close to his PB. 

Wilm through to the semis with the second fastest time, she'll be in the medal conversation. 

The men’s relay is one of my biggest medal hopes.

It’s going to be a tough field but there’s certainly potential especially if Liendo can put down a monster split. 

What on earth has happened! A one point victory!

Ruck would be the freestyle leg on the 4x100m medley relay (hopefully McIntosh rests for her other events), while probably also being on the 4x100m/4x200m freestyle relays as well. With Smith/Savard, MacNeil, and probably McIntosh (along with Ruck), bronze/maybe silver is doable in the 4x100m freestyle. 

I'm still optimistic that Oleksiak will be more on form - we realistically haven't seen her swim in awhile. 

Excellent split for Ruck and a decent one for Savard too

NR for Finlay Knox while missing the final by one spot. 

PB for Dergusoff in the 100m breastroke

Knox with a PB in the 50 fly and onto the semis

Is it a dirty way of qualifying? Yes, but hopefully this teaches World Aquatics not to have qualified teams in a final qualifier tournament.

Has it been confirmed that South Africa is accepting their quota?

They’re athletes, they want to win. With the Olympics guaranteed, any win would be a momentum booster. 

I don't disagree - I think the goal is always to win. 2012 badminton scandal aside.

21st sport qualified in. 

I’m thrilled we qualified here. I had a feeling the tides were turning with artistic swimming and this is an encouraging sign heading into the next quad. I hate that Ukraine was the country we bumped though.
