  1. I think we can't exclude France. They have to be one of the 6 teams that qualify to the OQT. Just like how Japan played in the OQT for Tokyo. So technically it's actually harder for European teams to qualify for the OQT, they only have 5 open OQT spots, France gets one OQT spot by default even if they finish outside of the Top6 at these Euros. But it doesn't really matter, France will most likely be in the Top6. So the other teams have to focus on finishing inside the Top6. Both the host (France) and the World Champion (the US) will be at the Olympic Qualifiers, taking two out of the available 16 spots. Which means that only 4 teams will fail to qualify at the OQTs, the other 12 (including France and the US) will be in Paris. Because of this, the last time only 4th placed teams failed to qualify at the OQTs: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2020_FIBA_Women's_Olympic_Qualifying_Tournaments
  2. @Makedonas I am guessing it's not that important for you now to win against . You would literally get an easier road to the Top4 by losing that match. and then if you lose against Spain, and then if you win against Spain. This seems like an easy choice.
  3. Bad news for all of and , they will have to fight for the same Top4 spot. We will probably play against or in the QF. Huge opportunity for them and for us to reach the semi-finals.
  4. Christ almighty, is in the Quater-finals. Congrats to our girls, but Serbia (or the refs) kinda beat themselves by losing three important players due to faults.
  5. As long as Turkey wins against Slovakia, I think we need to win this match at the very least by 5 points to win the group. Doubt that Serbia will let that happen.
  6. Uh, wtf is happening on our match. Now watch our girls mess this one up just like against Turkey.
  7. Well, that sure is unexpected, we will play against in the next round?
  8. loses another match after beating Spain, and that's probably it for them, unless Greece eliminates Spain in the group stage, which would be insanity.
  9. First ever World Tour stage win for Vas, hopefully more to come.
  10. Terrible performance from the Hungarian team in Montenegro, but at the very least it was enough for a 0-0 draw. We will have to beat them in Budapest to qualify.
  11. Very important match for us today against in Podgorica. We would already pretty much secure the Euro qualification if we win today, but it won't be an easy match.
  12. The Hungarian TV will even air the athletics 3rd division live where we aren't competing (we are in the 2nd division). So yeah, based on that you can guess that MTVA will go all in on this event, mostly because they don't have much else to show during this time of the year.
  13. Yeah, I am expecting that will beat and will beat . But that group is a mess, so who knows.
  14. So after two matchdays this might be the most likely bracket: v / v / v / v / LOL at us potentially getting the "easy" road to the Top4 thanks to our defeat against Turkey and thanks to the Group A clusterfuck. I mean, after today I wouldn't expect anything great from our girls, but Great Britain and Latvia being our main opponents for the Top4 seems too good to be true.
  15. And that's the end of that, collapse against in Q4, and with that, goodbye to our chance to reach the Top8. This is why I never expect anything great for us in women's basketball, they always choke under pressure, like how they threw away the 3x3 Tokyo quota.
  16. That was one very sloppy match from out girls for most of the match, but they showed what they are capable of in Q4. One good quarter was enough against , but we need more of that against .
  17. Milák won't swim in the freestyle events. Both Milák and the Hungarian national coach seem rather negative about how his training for the WCh is going. Don't expect amazing times from Milák this year, something seems off. Hopefully the gold medal(s) in fly aren't in danger, we will see. Milák gave an interview yesterday where he very openly said that he's getting tired of the mundanity of swimming training. He is simply not capable to train as hard as he used to when he was younger. These are probably early signs that Milák will retire in 2028, maybe even sooner.
  18. Well, I never expect anything in women's basketball for us, but this time there might actually be some high expectations from . Top8 seems actually plausible based on the team's form, we will see if they can actually deliver this time.
  19. I am not entire sure how large the Hungarian team is. The official number seems to be 180 athletes, but they are actually listing around 220 athletes on our NOC's site, so who knows... 20. Split seems too small for such an event, unless they scale it down a lot.
  21. Do we have any news on the next host? I mean, it seems insane to me that they only got 4 years to prepare for such a huge event, but does anyone actually want to host this? This should be the perfect multi-sport event for European cities who have no hopes of ever hosting the Olympic Games like Budapest, Prague, Vienna, etc. But the interest is extremely low because it just seems like a waste of money for no good reason. Budapest for example is focused on hosting the Athletics WCh, Aquatics WCh and bidding for the Olympic Games, and has no interest whatsoever in bidding for the European Games, despite the fact that we got literally all the venues to host such an event. Not even the "mid-tier" European cities want this, which is a clear sign that this event is on life support and will soon disappear.
  22. I mean, it's equestrian. Unless a new nation makes an actual effort to qualify, you will always get the same nations at the Games. Equestrian is waaay too expensive and nobody is watching it here, there's no reason to spend money on it. And this isn't the kind of sport where suddenly talent appears (like some Hungarians in cycling) despite the lack of funding, because you need horses.
  23. Congrats to , they were definitely the better team. is simply not a nation that will ever qualify a team in this sport, we never care enough.
  24. How much of a flop would be if they go lower than that with the final athlete?
  25. Well, it's good to know that the Hungarian tradition of throwing away team quotas is alive in equestrian as well.
