  1. Hungary is closing down the borders again on the 1st of September.
  2. Every new PM wants to start his or her term with something popular in most countries, and we all know that the vast majority of Japan supports the cancellation of the Games. This is also an opportunity for the ruling party to change their view on it if they feel like the public opinion has turned against the Games for good in the country and situation is unsalvageable, regardless of what will happen with COVID.
  3. The UEFA might want to reconsider having the first international match with spectators in Budapest (Super Cup) because the new cases are rising rapidly in Hungary.
  4. With the resignation of Abe, we are one step closer to the cancellation of the Games. This can end up as the final nail in the coffin for the event depending on who will be the next PM.
  5. Yeah, this is just ridiculous. It makes even less sense than the boycotts of the 80s Olympics. There are many ways to be helpful of the cause, and this isn't one of them.
  6. Well, if black Americans only see NBA as entertainment, not as something they can be proud of being the best at, no matter the circumstances, than your sport is just as broken as your country is.
  7. Boycotting games because of an ongoing political event is just dumb (unless the organizers are responsible for the situation). Just look at what the Hungarian athletes did a couple of weeks after the Hungarian revolution in 1956. They went to the Olympics and won 9 gold medals. And they beat the Soviet Union in water polo, in one of the most historical matches of the sport ever. They proved that their community can't be beaten by oppression. That's far more powerful than delaying a competition.
  8. It's official, the final 4 races of the season are... Turkish GP - Nov 15th Bahrain GP - Nov 29th Sakhir GP - Dec 6th (Bahrain again, the layout isn't confirmed yet) Abu Dhabi GP - Dec 13th
  9. No, it's opposite, the way NASCAR is doing is against the spirit of racing. Having an "overtime" in motorsports is just ridiculous. The race is called "Indy 500", not "Indy 500 or 502 or 504 or etc". There's a race distance, and when they reach it, it's over. That's how they do it in the most respected disciplines of motorsport, like F1, Le Mans 24, MotoGP, or the Indy 500. Protecting the traditions of these races and series is important and shouldn't be broken by a huge change like the GWC rule.
  10. It looks like the UEFA Super Cup in Budapest will be the first big European international match with spectators. The max possible capacity will be at 30% in the new Puskás Aréna, which is around 20 thousand spectators.
  11. Yeah... the Hungarian media is already kinda counting them as Hungarian teams when they play international matches. Which means that we have 5 "Hungarian" teams in Europa League this year as we have the standard 3 + DAC in Slovakia + Topola in Vojvodina.
  12. Re: DAC They really should be in the Hungarian Football League, it would be better for both Hungarian and Slovakian football. And not just DAC, every sport club owned by Hungarians in Hungarian majority settlements would probably be better off in Hungarian leagues as long as they live inside the EU. We would have less scandals, and they could to spend less money on security.
  13. One more American sport TV show under development, and this time it will be about a college fencing team: https://deadline.com/2020/08/picturestart-and-lionsgate-tv-tv-series-fencing-1203015424/
  14. Fun fact: I almost broke the rules with South Africa. My first choice was Malaika from Miriam Makeba, but then I realized that the rules don't allow it as the song doesn't originate from South Africa, so I went with her most well known song instead. Anyway, I would like to thank everyone who voted for South Africa, I am pleasantly surprised about how far it went considering how old the song is. My favorite songs were
  15. Canada wins Annual 2020 and then Costa Rica wins Special 2020... if a South American country won't win Open 2020 I will be disappointed.
  16. Alonso should have stayed with Honda for Indy, the Chevy cars are getting decimated by Honda at the Indy 500 qualy, only 1 driver with a Chevy engine in the Top10.
  17. Gibraltar achieves its 6th victory and it's our 4th and final semi-finalist. One of these 4 nations will win the first ever TISC Special event.

  19. The dream of an African gold lives on as Côte d'Ivoire advances to the next round in a dramatic and scandalous QF! The final QF is coming up next between the seemingly unstoppable Gibraltar and the last hit song that managed to stay alive, representing Sri Lanka.

  21. I can confirm that we have obtained the real vote of the last juror and neutralized the penguin, so we can now resume in a few minutes. The penguin is in the custody of some cute anime girls and will watch the rest of the matches with them, the lucky bastard.

  23. We will shortly continue with our 3rd QF. Côte d'Ivoire is the last African country left in the tournament, they prevailed against Cape Verde in the Round of 16 and now facing Albania who had a relatively easy time against Puerto Rico. Albania is hoping to join their neighbors, North Macedonia, in the SFs, and this would also be one of the best results ever for an ESC participant at TISC.
  24. Oh, right. Well, at least Gibraltar is the only nation that won all of its matches so far.
  25. We only have one undefeated country left: Gibraltar. If they survive this round, they will be the frontrunners. Edit: Correction, Albania is also undefeated. For some reason I remembered that Zambia won against them.
