  1. Again, BBC iPlayer if you can get it.
  2. I think that’s a good point. If you’re going to have a 4700 athlete overall cap, then the small nations will miss out. As we know in many sports, it is actually important for several reasons to be ranked 10 not 11, 19 not 21 etc etc
  3. Here’s the BBC story. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/winter-sports/62505950
  4. Yeah, same as in . The BBC don’t have the best stuff anymore, so go full blast with what they still have.
  5. Roman pool has a view of the Vatican. According to my map of Ancient Rome, the swimming pool was also an Olympic swimming pool in Roman times, but of course it was only 100 pedes long in those days.
  6. the BBC is doing a lot. The Worlds in Aquatics & Athletics were both quite low key, but the Commonwealths got big coverage and this is going to be Part III of the trilogy for them. Cycling, gymnastics, rowing and triathlon always get good coverage as well. Canoeing & Climbing don't have so much of a profile. And it definitely is being presented as a single entity, not as a random collection of things going on at the same time.
  7. Not sure if we’ve discussed football in Sierra Leone much, but with scores of 91-1 & 95-0, perhaps we have been unfair. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/africa/62484237
  8. Programme for Monaco tonight. https://monaco.diamondleague.com/programme-resultats-monaco/#baseFrame%23__athDisciplineRoot%23DisciplineInit%23Monaco2022_TIMING_ATHM1000M---DIAMOND---FNL-000100--_json%23%23main-frame_content%23__athRun%23RunSubFrame%23Monaco2022_TIMING_ATHM1000M---DIAMOND---FNL-000100--_json
  9. Try looking on the individual sport webpages. I know that world triathlon has the start lists that aren't on the Munich page.
  10. Here's the BBC Broadcast plans for those of you living in blessed proximity to this scepter'd isle. And those with nuclear-strength VPNs. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/athletics/62469065
  11. Marathon runners mutiny, given the forecast temperatures next week. https://www.insidethegames.biz/articles/1126795/european-athletics-marathon-letter
  12. I think one of the key lessons is not to charge silly prices for tickets. One of the great sights were seeing how many families were there with children. That’s where Eugene messed up
  13. Cycling Team, not including the Road Races or ITTs. Most of the track team were in action at the CWG last week. Track Men’s endurance Rhys Britton Kian Emadi Will Perrett Charlie Tanfield Will Tidball Ollie Wood Women’s endurance Ella Barnwell Neah Evans Josie Knight Pfeiffer Georgi Anna Morris Jess Roberts Men’s Sprint Jack Carlin Alistair Fielding Hamish Turnbull Women’s sprint Lauren Bell Sophie Capewell Emma Finucane BMX FSP Men Declan Brooks Shaun Gornall Sasha Pardoe Kieran Reilly Women Charlotte Worthington MTB Men Cam Orr Tom Pidcock Women Isla Short
  14. Full entry lists. https://www.european-athletics.com/news/final-entries-published-for-munich-2022-european-athletics-championships
  15. Full detailed timetables and start lists - not populated yet. LEN events from Rome LEN European Aquatics Championships 2022 | Roma (microplustimingservices.com) European Championships from Munich Schedule and Results - 11 Aug | European Championships (atos.net)
  16. TV Coverage is going to be a bit complicated because the event is not big enough to have its own TV contract, so existing contract between TV companies and individual sports are to be respected. As far as is concerned this means that: BBC Streaming & Red Button - has full Olympic-like coverage during the day BBC1, BBC2, BBC3 TV - will have the most popular stuff like triathlon, rowing, athletics, track cycling, swimming. Eurosport / GCN / Discovery Plus - Road & Track cycling, BMX Freestyle Eurovision Sports streaming - Gymnastics, Swimming, Athletics. You can see that the BBC are treating the Aquatics from Rome and the Championships from Munich as one event, so I have updated my time calculator to include all the aquatics events - ie all the LEN sports except team water polo. There have also been some minor revisions to the Munich timetable over the last couple of weeks, so I recommend you download again if you're going to use it. Munich Time Calculator.xls
  17. DL from Monaco on Wednesday. In the last few years Monaco has been pretty much the best meet on the circuit, but then it was always the last big event before the major, so it might not be this time. Plenty of big names in action though. Kipyegon, Rojas and Lyles among dozen world champions in Monaco | PREVIEWS | World Athletics
  18. British Team is here, but won’t post it in full until I can see the post CWG developments. https://www.britishathletics.org.uk/news-and-features/great-britain-and-northern-ireland-select-115-athletes-for-the-2022-european-championships-in-munich/
  19. She does a lot of work, badminton is on the TV practically every week it seems like.
  20. Someone said that Budapest is known to be generous. Probably also private jet & other advantages.
  21. Fast and loose in the men’s hockey bronze match - 5 3 & SA have taken their goalie off. Four minutes left. Finishes 6-3. Australia v India will be the last action of the Games.
  22. Strange behaviour from superstar Sydney McLaughlin. She will run in Budapest tonight, but not Monaco on Wednesday. And that will be the end of her season.
  23. And Jamaica completely fall asleep, as AUS outscore them 10-2 in five minutes.
  24. Going to be a dramatic second half in the netball 29 29
  25. Women’s 4x400 a squeaker, England juuuuust get it. Canada not happy.
