  1. It really just should be added back. Requires no additional athletes or venues.
  2. Canada in the hex octo, lets go!
  3. Hopefully it won’t stop you from watching the games.
  4. The organization deserves to have it's funding wiped out. The athletes don't.
  5. What's kind of crazy to me is that there are only two chances to qualify in open water swimming. Would be way better if they used some kind of ranking system imo.
  6. Field hockey and skateboarding, too.
  7. https://youtu.be/a9OrsfsE0cI?t=7605 This is where the farce goes down.
  8. God, the WKF is so cruel. They brought the athletes back to the tatami to announce the result of the protest. I feel horrible for Lardy. The way this went down is just terrible. I can’t celebrate this at all.
  9. WKF confirmed the Canadian qualified. This sport is a real joke xD https://twitter.com/worldkarate_wkf/status/1404131810884440066?s=20
  10. I will never watch Karate again.
  11. I wouldn’t put it past Bach.
  12. I know a lot of people on this forum like Karate, but for me of all the additional sports this is the one I'm least keen on seeing again.
  13. This format manages to be both boring *and* incredibly cruel to the athletes.
  14. Derek Drouin is doing it wrong, that's where he should be chasing the Olympic standard.
  15. I trust you over the IWF at this point.
  16. The round robin is the final. Basically the top 4 meet in a round robin, and the top 3 from the round robin qualify to the Olympics. I do not endorse this format.
  17. In past years they were decided at the games. I don’t remember if that’s still the case this year.
  18. I actually feel like Dabrowski and whoever in mixed doubles is the best chance for a medal.
  19. The first athletes on the United States team have been selected: Alison Gibson and Krysta Palmer will compete in the women's 3m synchro. After 10 of 15 dives they are first and third in the individual 3m event.
  20. Canada needs someone in the women's -70kg, -78kg or +78kg to compete in the team event.
  21. Hosting another games in Vancouver 20 years later isn't exciting (and it sure hurts the chances of Canada hosting the summer games for quite a while), but from the IOC's POV it's hard for me to see a better bid than Vancouver or Calgary for 2030. It's a safe pair of hands, most of the venues are already there and it doesn't run into the issue of the country just having hosted (which is why I'm not bullish on Salt Lake City 2030 as anything other than a last resort).
  22. Ya, I am very worried about what the IOC will do to those sports.
  23. Adding monobob also doesn't solve the gender imbalance, at all.
  24. I've toyed around with formats for mixed team events in half-pipe, slopestyle and big air. I think they would be great, and I think everyone else on this forum would absolutely hate them xD
  25. I, for one, welcome our mixed doubles moguls team event with open arms (especially if it's the four athlete variation rather than the two athlete variation). I've always thought a team event was the best way to add dual moguls to the Olympics.
