  2. Today starts the national championships in Mexico, last chance for our athletes to achieve the standards set by the federation, and in the case of 20km race walk both genders, the chance to achieve nomination. Currenlty we have qualified 20 athletes (13 men and 7 women); however, Juan Luis Barrios, two-time Olympic finalist in 5000m is likely to miss Rio due to injury and Diego del Real is not oficially selected, as the national committee asks for a 78.00 meters mark in hammer throw, even when this kid has already broke the national record twice this year, last time with a throw of more than 77.50
  3. Finally ICF gives a summary of qualification quotas. Tou can find it here under the Canoe Sprint section.
  4. Entry lists for Open Water qualifier next week Any early predictions/favorites?
  5. But Brazil has 2 quotas on the list; I don't know what mess they did again, taking one spot away from France.
  6. Very impressive indeed... I'll be rooting for he and Boe in Rio!
  7. Seems like the only explanation... don't forget in the document for track cycling they gave another spot to Colombia, which chould have been given to the Czechs.
  8. But yet again, UCI seems to not know its qualifying rules as in their document they are awarding a quota to Colombia http://www.uci.ch/mm/Document/News/News/17/68/70/ListedesNOCqualifiés_Neutral.pdf
  9. According to my calculations, this is how final standings and quota for Women Road should look: Rank Nation Points Quotas 1 Netherlands 3414.00 4 2 United States 2778.00 4 3 Italy 2141.25 4 4 Australia 1710.50 4 5 Germany 1615.75 4 6 Poland 1501.50 3 7 Sweden 1474.50 3 8 Great Britain 1472.25 3 9 Canada 1187.50 3 10 Belgium 1080.00 3 11 France 971.00 3 12 South Africa 849.50 2 13 Luxembourg 732.25 2 14 Russia 583.00 1 15 Belarus 539.25 1 16 Ukraine 538.00 1 17 Finland 490.00 1 18 New Zealand 439.50 1 19 Cuba 436.00 1 20 Mexico 377.00 1 21 Switzerland 367.50 1 22 Spain 349.00 1 Qualifying through individual rankings: 41 Ting Ying HUANG Chinese Taipei 275.00 59 Emilie MOBERG Norway 173.50 69 Olena PAVLUKHINA Azerbaijan 143.00 75 Jutatip MANEEPHAN Thailand 132.00 76 Martina RITTER Austria 131.00 84 Polona BATAGELJ Slovenia 115.00 87 Daiva TUSLAITE Lithuania 110.00 89 Antri CHRISTOFOROU Cyprus 109.00 90 Shani BLOCH Israel 109.00 94 Mayuko HAGIWARA Japan 103.00 97 Paola MUNOZ Chile 92.00 Places from continental championships go to Namibia (Africa), Venezuela (America) and South Korea (Asia). Brazil will use the host quota places. Good job by Lithuania this past weekend earning one quota, but at the same time so sad Denmark and Costa Rica fell short of qualifying by 1.50 and 2.50 points in the end
  10. Well there are at least another 8 athletes in front of him in the rankings, so unfortunately, it is very unlikely for him to qualify.
  11. ISSF finally gave the full list of quotas for Rio Link
  12. The only athlete that qualified by finishing in the top 3 is Jinhwa JUNG from South Korea; the other two places are reallocated through rankings, which go to: James COOKE Amro EL GEZIRY Adam MAROSI Omar EL GEZIRY Maksim KUSTOV Justinas KINDERIS Jianli GUO Bence DEMETER Now, we must wait for South Korea to reallocate 2 places, and China, Egypt, Hungary and Russia one.
  13. The following athletes qualified to Rio through ranking (including reallocation from 2016 World Championships and host quota): Zsofia FOLDHAZI Annika SCHLEU Claudia CESARINI Anastasiya PROKOPENKO; Ieva SERAPINAITE Freyja PRENTICE Gintare VENCKAUSKAITE Iryna KHOKHLOVA Melanie MCCANN Margaux ISAKSEN Germany, Great Britain and Lithuania still need to determine the competitors they will send to the Games as they have 3 qualified; so expect some reallocations either from European Qualification or World Ranking
  14. Quotas for men were defined today: and No matter if Nauru wins +105kg, they will finish one point short of Fiji
  15. Totally agree; for me it's the most entertaining event of Slalom canoe... I pray they reverse this decision on time, just like they did with kitesurfing
  16. I made a calculation up to last Sunday... from individual rankings you shall drop Hong Kong; Azerbaijan and Chile will qualify instead. Milagro Mena is number 100 in individual ranking, but she is likely to end up just outside that place. Namibia and Korea still qualify, but this time by winning the continental quota, meaning China and Mauritius are out, and Venezuela will qualify for America.
  17. Also according to Mexican federation they qualified in men's C1 200m by way of reallocation
  18. i'm impressed by argentina U21 who just advance to the final of the Pan American Cup,,, they are playing well enough to actually win the tournament. Also impressed with Canada's B team... they did perform well against Cuba and probably will finish in the podium
  19. Australia has announced its squad for Rio Source Men: Ryan Bailie, Ryan Fisher & Aaron Royle Women: Erin Densham, Ashleigh Gentle and Emma Moffatt I can also confirm that Mexico will participate with the same athletes that qualified through rankings
  20. South Africa will reject its quota in men singles as it is a continental place; Uganda's Edwin Ekiring will qualify instead.

  22. Morea BARU was a few kilos short of making a top 15 in the Ranking list, which could provide him a direct ticket to Rio
  23. Maybe, but she didn't let Torres upset her in here
  24. Now it seems that for the Intercontinental Tournament, Tunisia will have a good advantage; Mexico and Chile are playing terrible at the Pan American Cup, so if theyd on't improve in the classification matches, then Africa is likely to have a second team in Rio.
