  1. It's so nice to see players from other countries fighting for the medals in this sport. Already two finals where no Chinese competitors are present, let's see what comes next. By the way I'm rooting for V. Sindhu Pusarla of India to make it to the podium
  2. Cognratulations to Conceicao and Brazil for that gold medal Also congratulations to Colombia and Valencia for another medal (color to be determined)
  3. Rommel I had my hopes high on him after his performance in the semifinal, but the nerves got the best of him and cost him the Olympic medal he has so long wanted. I doubt he will be in Tokyo (he's 30), but still I admire him, probably the best Mexican diver in the last 15 years.
  4. Congratulations. A great achievement for him indeed, and he can be one to watch four years from now.
  5. I'm happy for Hausding too, he deserves that medal. Also I agree on Laugher, pure arrogance but that doesn't diminish his talent.
  6. Wow, what a terrible luck for Argentina. Still USA team hasn't impressed me this time, this 'stars' seem to be overconfident, so whatever small chance your squad has, they shall go for it. I can't assure anything but if there was some match fixing indeed, then it's time to review the playing schedule to avoid similar cases
  7. Thiaaago What an impressive performance!
  8. Really disgusting behaviour... he deserves to lose the silver medal.
  9. Too bad for Gaviria to end in fourth place, since he was favorite for gold I also like the points race and the elimination race the most out of the whole Omnium program and would love to see them as individual events.
  10. Nicely done Canada, advancing to QF's from a though group

  14. First ever in a final
  15. I'm just glad Alberto Alvarez made it to the triple jump final. So far, a very good year for him, including being the first Mexican in a field event in the Olympics Best of luck for him tomorrow
  16. Thank you for the answer
  17. Now, that I'm seeing the results, the score in favor of Rodriguez seems a little odd... Why did he win despite having been knocked down once and also having a warning? Could someone who watched the fight tell me what happened?
  18. Finally a medal for Mexico ! After 16 years, we have another medal in boxing...
  19. Finally, mexican divers performing at their level. I hope Rommel has a great day tomorrow (physically and mentally) so he could challenge for the podium... Rodrigo Diego was good for being his first "senior" Olympics, making it into the final will be great for him. By the way, Chao HE (he failed his 2nd and 3rd dives; after that he couldn't return to it top form) is out of contention, so it's practically an open field for the gold/podium. Especial recognition to Yona KNIGHT-WISDOM and Olivier DINGLEY for advancing to the semis. I hope they surprise again tomorrow in the semifinals (not at the expense of the Mexicans though)
  20. Wow Van Niekirk breaks Johnson's record
  21. Lucky indeed, but I guess that's part of not giving up
  22. DelPo He did a great tournament, beating Djokovic and Nadal, so congrats for his second Olympic medal. Murray did enough today (and during the tournament) to become the first tennis player to repeat an Olympic title
  23. Finally, my favorite event of the Omnium, the elimination race Go Prado Let's hope he finishes top 10 in the end.
  24. Well, that will happen with people who are not used to be spectators. A sad behaviour indeed... On the other side, glad to see Hipolyto winning silver and Steingruber bronze, but sad because Dipa could not be on that podium.
  25. Great for Tania Cagnotto, two medals in what it seems her retirement. On a side note, it is sad to see Mexican divers performing so poorly, is like they are already considering themselves to be on the bad side of the judges
