The organization of the announcement is taking longer than I expected so I'll need another hour in order to get everything ready. I apologize for the delay. We will start unveiling the nominees at 21:00 (UTC).5 points -
Merry Christmas everyone, may the food be tasty As for gifts: some people in the Netherlands participate in it, others don't, as always because especially for families with children there was 5 December As for my own family: we've got a few presents under the tree, which will be opened on New Year's Eve for practical reasons - my sister and her boyfriend can't come on Christmas due to my sister having to work night shifts at the hospital, so they'll visit on New Year's Eve and then we open the Christmas presents.5 points

In Mexico you have 3 traditions, depending to which part of the country you live. Central and Southern Mexico are more team “Reyes” so kids there expect to find their gifts on January 6th. Northern Mexico is team “Santa” in larger cities, but the rural areas also celebrate the Wise Men. And mi city, is the only ones where kids write a letter to Baby Jesus asking for gifts.5 points

Merry Christmas to all who celebrate. I hope you have a wonderful time with your families and that you have a happy and healthy Christmas. And I hope you are spoiled with something nice to open and good food and drink.3 points -
I always think the 'sports moment of the year' category is by far the most open and diverse There's honestly going to be dozens of moments that made me go "wow!" this year, which I just can't remember off the top of my head. Like I said before, I really need to write those things down when they happen3 points

Merry Christmas to those who celebrate the holiday! Hope you enjoy(ed)/are enjoying the festivities with your loved ones, and receive lots of hugs and gifts. My best wishes for you.3 points

On a positive note, diving will become the most popular event as the athletes jump into a vat of salsa.3 points

Not in my case, but my family does not do Santa either, just "Reyes Magos", which is basically the same thing but in January 6th. I do have some friends in Catalonia that celebrate the Tió though. And in the Basque Country they also have their own version of Santa. It is called the Olentzero if you want to check it out. Merry Christmas and happy holidays to you and the rest of this wonderful community! 😊3 points

We generally celebrate Christmas Three days from 24th to 26th, All 3 days are national Holidays and Day-offs, Offices and Shops closed etc..., As almost everywhere here yes as well, The 25th is called Christmas Day...but the 24th is the most important day, It is called "Generous Day" The families gathers this day from the morning, decorating the Christmas Tree, cooking and preparing the dinner, the Evening Dinner is the main dish of christmas and once the dinner is eaten, it is time for the gifts (Santa Claus for the modern and "Baby Jesus" for the more traditionalists who arrive ) are presented or placed under the tree for kids After this families usually watch together (Every year the same old Czechoslovak TV classics movies & Fairytales) and later attend the midnight mass. Next 2 days are about eating, visiting distant families, Eating, Watching TV christmas shows and Eating3 points

Men's Ice Hockey NHL 2023 - 2024

So, NHL is taking a break for the next couple of days, with the next games being played on Wednesday. Surprise, surprise, my Vancouver Canucks are 1st in the league! Sure, we’ve played a few more games than some of the other top teams (Rangers, Kings, Bruins, Stars), but heading into this season a 23-9-3 record halfway throughout the season sounded almost unthinkable. Here are my sporting moment of the year choices. #1: win over United States in women’s waterpolo at the World Aquatics Championships #2: Femke Bol rebounding from a late race fall in the mixed 4x400m to win gold in the women’s 4x400m at the World Athletics Championships! #3: Adriana Diaz and Bruna Takahashi’s embrace after the gold medal match in women’s singles table tennis at the Pan American Games #4: Canada booking their ticket to the Olympics in men’s basketball at the FIBA World Cup for the first time since 2000 #5: Novak Djokovic winning three grand slam titles this year, while extending his overall total to 24, winning the Australian Open, Roland Garros, and US Open. #6: Connor Bedard and Trevor Zegras scoring Michigan goals on the same day (December 23) #7: Miltiadis Tentoglou winning gold in men’s long jump at the World Athletics Championships with his round six attempt. But also, Canada qualifying for Paris in men’s volleyball, which marks their third consecutive appearance. Really impressive considering we’ve never really been near the top of the World Rankings. @vinipereira it’s so hard to choose athletes/moments in some categories. Is it possible if my #7 vote can count?2 points
