  2. Road to TISC Annual - Mexico 2019 Tonight we wrap up our "Road to TISC Annual 2019" series with a look at another batch of artists who made multiple appearances at TISC. In Part 1 we feature Gjan, Ninety One and Aamir Khan In Part 2 we feature Red Electrick and conclude our series with a duo of artists from host country Mexico who both appeared twice at TISC Natalia Lafourcade and Santana Part 1 kicks off with Lithuanian female singer Greta Jančytė, better known as GJan who debuted at TISC Annual 2014 with "Need Your Love". GJan finished in 16th place in that occasion, but it was her return 3 years later at TISC Annual 2017 where she made a greater impact. Her entry "Wild" went over the 100-point threshold, finishing with a total of 115 points, enough for 7th place in the final standings. Lithuania - GJan GJan finished 7th at TISC Annual 2017 with "Wild" TISC Annual 2014 - GJan - Need Your Love TISC Annual 2017 - GJan - Wild Kazakhstan - Ninety One Ninety One represented Kazakhstan at TISC Annual in 2017 and 2018 Next up we have a rare find when it comes to TISC.... a boyband, and one that has competed at TISC on 2 occasions! Kazakh Q-pop boyband Ninety One represented their nation at 2 consecutive TISC Annuals in 2017 and 2018. On both occasions they finished in 33rd position. It seems like Q-pop has a way to go before it sinks into the consciousness of TISC voters, but we applaud their proud achievement of being a 2-time TISC contestant. TISC Annual 2017 - Ninety One - Kalay Karaisyn? TISC Annual 2018 - Ninety One - Ah!Yah!Mah! India - Aamir Khan Aamir Khan participated at both TISC Annual and TISC Open Aamir Khan is not only a talented Bollywood actor, director singer and songwriter, but he is also a two-time TISC contestant! Aamir first appeared at TISC Open back in 2015 where appeared alongside 3-time TISC artist, A.R. Rahman and returned at TISC Annual in 2017, the more successful of his two appearances to date. TISC Open 2015 - Lagaan, Aamir Khan & A.R. Rahman - Chale Chalo TISC Annual 2017 - Aamir Khan - Dhaakad

  4. Road to TISC Annual - Mexico 2019 We conclude our "Road to TISC Annual 2019" series now by remembering a duo of TISC artists from Mexico, our host nation, who have both made 2 appearances at the contest. First though we are travelling to the Mediterranean island of Malta where we will find Red Electrick, the pop-rock band who first appeared at TISC Annual 2014. 62 points and 20th place was to be the final result for their song "The Runaway". Red Electrick came back one year later at TISC Annual 2015 in Denmark. This time they claimed 85 points with their entry "Young Again", enough for a respectable 14th place finish. Malta - Red Electrick Red Electrick competed at TISC Annual 2014 and 2015 TISC Annual 2014 - Red Electrick - The Runaway TISC Annual 2015 - Red Electrick ft. MPO - Young Again Mexico - Natalia Lafourcade Natalia won the Mexican ticket for TISC Annual 2016 and 2017 Up next is the first of 2 Mexican artists who represented the hosts of TISC Annual 2019 on 2 occsions. Natalia Lafourcade won the Mexican selection ticket for TISC Annual 2016 in Slovakia. "Hasta La Raíz" finished the contest in 24th position. Undeterred, Natalia won the selection once again for TISC Annual, this time making the trip to Great Britain in 2017. Natalia climbed to 15th place on this occasion with Tú Sí Sabes Quarerme taking 80 points from the juries. TISC Annual 2016 - Natalia Lafourcade - Hasta La Raíz TISC Annual 2017 - Natalia Lafourcade ft. Los Macorinos - Tú Sí Sabes Quarerme Mexico - Santana Santana won silver at TISC Open 2016 in Lithuania What better way to end our "Road to TISC Annual 2019" series by remembering our hosts' most successful TISC artist. That of course is Santana and he too is a 2-time TISC artist. Santana debuted at the inaugural TISC back in 2013 where his enty "Corazon Espiando", featuring Mana bagged an impressive 128 points, enough for 7th position. However, even better was to come when Santana returned to the contest 3 years later at TISC Annual 2016. This time, his entry, "Smooth", featuring Rob Thomas, racked up a massive 176 points, taking home the silver medal for Mexico. This remains the host nation's most successful result to date and established Santana as one of the true greats when it comes to TISC. Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you Santana. Best of luck to Mexico in all the preparations for the Grand Final on Saturday and see you all at the Opening Ceremony tomorrow TISC Open 2013 - Santana feat. Mana - Corazon Espinado TISC Open 2016 - Santana feat. Rob Thomas - Smooth

Here is a picture from the organizers in which the mascot is introduced. Her name is Partenope, the same of the mythological mermaid that according to legend lived where Napoli was founded, and that is at the origin of why Neapolitan people is often defined as “partenopei”. The castle on the background instead is Castel dell’Ovo (literally “the castel of the egg”) about which a legend say that the whole castle is built over an egg placed there by Vergilius and whose rupture may cause disgraces in the whole city. It is located on the tiny island called Megaride and together with Vesevus it belongs to the worldwide famous Caracciolo/Mergellina seaside in the City

  12. Alexander Barkov will not play for at the Worlds, Florida Panthers refused to let him go to Slovakia, because of not favorable exit medical tests. Finland can count on the help of 2 NHLers only so far, the Chicago Blackhawks blueliner Henri Jokiharju and Barkov´s teammate from Florida the forward Juho Lammikko. + they will have the AHL team Rockford IceHogs goalie Kevin Lankinen

  13. this is 99% nonsense (I can't say 100% but in Iran you never can be really sure) she is just someone desperate for attention. not much media attention about her inside Iran, (of course Persian media outside of Iran as usual take these kind of news seriously) because nobody knew her at all until few days ago. just some announcement denying that bold part . of course she can't be representing the IR Iran without Hejab but doing something "without Hejab in another country" is not illegal and she won't have any problem traveling back to Iran. but of course she has other reasons spreading such news. we will see her getting French citizenship (or somewhere else) soon just because of that. and after that she will travel back to Iran happily to see her family that's usually the plan.

  15. Some interesting NHL names that already accepted the invitations of their National Teams for the Wch Already 11 NHLers confirmed their participation for in Slovakia this May !!! Loui Eriksson from Vancouver will also play at the Worlds, The reigning champions can also count on the help of Elias Petersson and Jacob Markstrom (both from Vancouver as well) Erik Gustafsson and Marcus Kruger (Chicago) Adam Larsson (Edmonton) Robert Hägg (Philadelphia) Adrian Kempe (LA Kings) Mario Kempe and Oliver Ekman-Larsson (Arizona) and Jesper Bratt (New Jersey) In other hand Rickard Gronborg received negative answers from Mika Zibanejad (NY Rangers) Hampus Lindholm, Rickard Rakell or Jakob Silfverberg (Anaheim) will be again strong as hell, among others another huge world super star will play in Bratislava/Košice this May Yevgeni Malkin (Pittsburgh) apparently will accept the invitation, The Russian team is already filled with the likes of the goalie Alex Georgiev , defencers Ilia Lyubushkin, Yegor Yakovlev, Ivan Provorov or forwards Ilia Kovalchuk, Artem Anisimov, Vladislav Namestnikov and Yevgeni Dadonov and USA teams are not entirely named yet, but we already know that Canada will play for example with the rising star Sam Reinhart (Buffalo) or Thomas Chabot (Ottawa) or the Philadelphia this season 91.7% goalie Carter Hart. has so far 3 players from NHL in their roster, Jakub Voráček (Philadelphia) being the biggest star, then Radko Gudas and Filip Chytil from the NY Rangers already accepted the invitation, in other hand the young rising star Pavel Zácha from New Jersey refused the invitation... from the bottom ranked teams interesting to mention that also has already it´s 1st NHL reinforcement, Michael Raffl (Philadelphia) accepted the invitation and will help our south-west neighbors at the world champs.

  16. Rhythmic gymnastics? I very strongly doubt that. Much like dressage for example, if you have no knowledge of it you've got no idea what the hell is going on. At least in sports like swimming or athletics one can simply see who finished first or jumped the highest or something.

  17. Well, minor teams are not longer minor, nowadays ice hockey is completely different of the sport we knew decades before. Now it´s more athletic, the goalies are bigger (size and eqipements) the shoot-outs are slightly but surely becoming a natural ending of matches. The problem for GB is that they have limited options to search for a exhibition game opponent, they are not part of the Euro Hockey Challenge project (CZE FIN, RUS, SWE, GER, SUI, SVK, NOR, DEN, FRA, LAT and AUT), so they can not play thse exhibition games (the same apply this year also for Italy) both are thus forced to play each other if they want some top division teams test games, and they will do that in 3 friendly matches between them this week in Coventry, GB willl then face some clubs opponents and before the WCh they will play against SVK after their arrival here. USA and CAN are also famous for their "on purpose" lack of test maches, they usually arrive to Europe only a couple of days before the tournament and play 1 or 2 matches 2 or 3 days before the tournament just to recognize a bit the europeans biggers rink

  25. I write poetry from time to time, so on a sad day like this I choose to write one for the French people. (Sorry If you hate it, but I have gained many accolades for my poetry) (I apologize if I misused any French words, they’re all from google translate) (I also apologize if I offend anyone.): Brûler Our Lady, Notre Dame Stands burning. The protector becomes the afflicted. Fathers stop, Their sons are impatient. “It’s not everyday Our Lady burns.” It’s not everyday history is destroyed. Presidents, Emperors, Popes, Kings, and Queens All walked her halls. The Heart of France, Le Coeur de la France Burns, brûle A World, un monde Watches, regarde Sad, triste And devastated, et dévasté. All is lost, tout est perdu. Silence is broken, sadness is chained. Voices, voix de paris Cry out for Our Lady. Their tone is somber, their hearts heavy. But together, they cry out for Our Lady. Our Lady watched Paris for 800 years, We watched her for one evening. Beauty, sa beauté Changes to hideous horror. Hope will rise from her ashes. Les Parisiens will rebuild Our Lady. Her beauty will be restored. Her scars healed, But history’s will not. Today Our Lady burned, We sit in hushed sadness Tomorrow we rebuild, And create new history. (It takes a lot of courage on my part to post this here, so please be respectful if your critique it.)

  26. Well, that´s really unfortunate. But my voting time is exactly during the period I´ll not be sadly able to be online. This Saturday I have a important meeting between 16:00 and 19:30, so exactly the session including my votes..very sad, this will be the first TISC I´ll not be able to post my own votes, and I missed only one contest (the very first one) in all history

  27. As expected, Russia too strong and too much for our kids, in this category the difference of the levels is even bigger. it never was in doubt who will win this match. From our view, the really positive and most promising thing, is as expected - our wonder kid named - Maxim Čajkovič ! Even today, by miles our best player, he scored 2 of our 3 goals, The only guy able to outskate the Russians, literally flying on the ice. Hopefully he´ll continue to work hard, awesome talent, it´s always a pleasure to watch this boy, so skilled and fast on skates. No surprise, Last year he was the CHL Draft Number 1. But in the second match CZE lost to Belarus 3-4 !!! Wow !!! What a shock ! This is seriously not good for the ambitions at all Remember the top 4 of the group will advance for the QF and the 5th team will fall to the relegation round

  28. Something from an unknown date (I assume the 1970 mentioned is wrong, since it's talking about events in the 90s and 00s, but with time travel technology one can never be too sure): https://resource.wur.nl/nl/show/Nationaal-kampioene-stopt-met-ritmische-gymnastiek.htm It's about a triple Dutch champion retiring. It says she became Dutch champion in 2000 for the first time, winning all events, and a year later doing the same. However, KNGU (gymnastics federation) then decided to stop the whole rhythmic gymnastics national team to focus all resources in women's artistic gymnastics. Van Montfoort says her coach (a Bulgarian who was world champion herself) got fired and she had to go train at her local team. She and some others kept on going because the 2003 world champs were supposed to be held in the Netherlands, but eventually they retired.
