What a fight between Karakas of Hungary and Nascimento of Brazil  

 

After 10 minutes (!) of golden score, Nascimento had Karakas down....but she came up two seconds shy of getting the waza-ari and with that, the win, so the fight went on. Then after 11:38 minutes of golden score, Karakas got a hold of Nascimento's arm and forced her to tap

Yeah, that was crazy. I doubt Karakas wins another match after such a marathon fight, but still, kudos to both of them, this has to be the longest match of the WCh.

I was expecting another one of those situations where a fight like this ends because of some stupid little penalty, but finishing it with a submission after fighting nearly 3,5 full-length fights in one is awesome

has this been already decided by your NOC? was this championship a direct playoff for the Olympic spot? 

because the rules don't say she's automatically out...once an athlete is in qualifying position, it's up to the single NOCs to choose who will represent them at the Games (they might still opt for the lower ranked player)...

As far as i've heard Canda's OC made this competition as the "choosing test" between the two

The higher ranked of the two here would qualify, even though Deguchi is undefeated against Klimkait. It's beyond stupid. A head to head was supposed to happen but it didn't because of covid.

That doesn’t even make any sense unless Klimkait also beats Tamaoki.
