Working your ass off until deep in the night only to lose to someone who then gives the tournament and you a big middle finger by withdrawing basically due to being tired. Not good by Federer, not good at all. mrv86 1 If you'd like to help our fellow Totallympics member Bruna Moura get to the 2026 Winter Olympics, after her car crash on the way to the 2022 Olympics, every tiny bit of help would be greatly appreciated! I guess Patricia Tig's feelings don't matter I believe I mostly defended her refusal to keep going to every little press thing, not so much her withdrawal itself. If it came across as defending her withdrawal (instead of her statements about mental health and the press thing), I shall rectify that situation by saying that's not what I intended and withdrawing was as much a slap in Tig's face as Federer slaps Köpfer in the face. If Federer is actually injured or close to injured, it's a whole different story of course. He's just feeling tired after more than a year away from a demanding competition, and of course, he's nearing 40, so it's not the same. But as you say, if he already was feeling fatigued, then it was very unsportmanlike to do from him.

Oh absolutely, one has to respect the fact he even is still playing at this level, no doubt about that. But if he's here now and made it to this stage, assuming fatigue is the only issue and there (hopefully) is nothing injury-like, one would guess he could have at least showed up tomorrow like the champion he undoubtedly is. Of course in the end it's his decision and all.. mrv86 1 If you'd like to help our fellow Totallympics member Bruna Moura get to the 2026 Winter Olympics, after her car crash on the way to the 2022 Olympics, every tiny bit of help would be greatly appreciated!
