Table Tennis Qualification to Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympic Games

Recommended Posts

Now I just hope Miller/Toko can qualify for Tokyo , they have to do it they should do it for Vanuatu Beach Volleyball. That could mean the biggest squad with universality places

Probably not, ignoring nations with team quotas (Honduras and Montenegro) the largest tripartite nation will likely be Samoa. They have already qualified seven athletes and will qualify more in judo and weightlifting (plus a chance in rugby sevens, but that's a team sport). That's without getting any invitation places (they will be given one/two in swimming).

Due to their success, this means Samoa won't be eligible for tripartite quotas in 2024.

Actually I meant with tripartite places ,beach volleyball and current qualified  Vanuatu will have its biggest  squad ever at Olympics.

I'm closely reading Samoan Newspapers once a week. I'm happy with their preparation for the Olympics. They can win a medal (or 2 with some luck) in weightlifting and rugby team is preparing well since last year I don't know about France though for the Qualifiers.

It's hard to phrase this nicely... But Yoshua Shing could very well be the "low level" athlete with most Olympic participations (3).

wow, did not know they confirmed the XD quotas already. That is a nice surprise.

Balážová and Pištej officially in Tokyo  2nd Olympics for Barbi hope her WS confirmation will be unveiled soon as well, Olympic debut for Pištej.

3 :SVK athletes in Table Tennis equalled the amount of Rio 2016 with almost the same players (Only now retired Eva Odorová will be replaced by Ľubomír Pištej this time)

    • Yeah. It was pretty bad that they cancel the contract with the original creative director after 7 months of work. I feel like politics, in this particular context of the changing of prime minister and the cabinet, may had caused changes in organizational decisions regarding the Sea Games including the direction of the opening ceremony.
    • That's what I figured.  Wouldn't be a proper lead up to an Olympics without some media-fueled fearmongering.
    • Today : Jordan 3-0 Egypt  This team will surprise us
    • option no.2 for sure, as it's been all this shitstorm organized by the nhl owners through their embedded reporters   ps not that the north american audience looks really aware of the hockey rules and habits outside the nhl (and around their game, too, since they look not to know that just a couple of weeks ago they played 2 nhl matches on an ice sheet of the exact same size of Milan's olympic arena)
    • Are we supposed to take Daly's word for it or is this just public posturing to try and shame the Milan organizers (which they certainly deserve for all the delays) in order to threaten NHL participation?
    • Well that was a disappointing opening ceremony. Not to mention the boss is late too...   Anyway this is another victim of bureaucracy, the initial creative director quit in October and we get this kind of show.   Original plan: https://www.facebook.com/share/v/17EVayTpig/
    • Japan missed their last shot with hammer in the 10th last night against the Philippines for them to stay alive.  USA's remaining 2 games are against Philippines and Netherlands, so they have a tough road ahead, although they've already beaten Japan, so that helps for tiebreaker purposes.
    • They have already beaten Japan, so a win would them in a strong place.
